If you were to look at it from Dave’s POV his stance would be he isn’t stealing because the effort he puts into one of his companies is his decision of what to allocate to a business is his resources that he owns so he isn’t stealing from himself. Whereas an emoloyee is paid to work for the forty hours you’ve paid them for assumed for their full efforts for those hours which isn’t truly possible if you’re working multiple jobs at the same time. Now if you agree or not is up to you but that would be how he would see it. For me an employer who pays at a level where somebody feels the need to have another full time job is problematic

They are both on each end of the extremes. In most jobs you can't take another full time job without affecting productivity. But also if you're doing enough for both jobs to not get fired, why not? Same with the job hopping thing. I've see friends who successfully job hopped and gotten much higher pay and also some others who have job hopped but they were laid off and have to work their way back on track. So it's really down to the individual person's risk tolerance and luck.

He is not a baby steps millionaire, this is just the 'product' he sells to buy more real estate, including the land and building that houses Ramsey Solutions. Working from home impacts commerical real estate negatively. Corporate office space goes empty. He is going to be against working from home, no matter what. I didn't realize he was so anti union. I should have, but I didn't. Disturbing. I am truly considering no longer watching. I am in a family of coal miners, and unions have saved their lives from unsafe working conditions ignored by the coal companies. Before the unions, miners had to pay for the tools they used to mine the coal. Imagine looking at your auto deposited check on your mobile phone, and see the amount less than it should be. When you pull up the check stub, you see deductions for the pens, paper, internet etc.etc. you used while at your employer's office. You don't have these items, they belong to your employer, you were charged a rental fee of sorts to use them to make a profit for your employer. This sh*t is what was done to miners for years. It’s easy for Israel to look clean and prosperous when the US gives billions to israel year after year while Palestinians get little to no support and are under occupation. Also as a Christian man, i would think that you’d be against the oppression and murdering of Palestinian Christians instead of praising Israel. You’ve just lost a fan sir.

I think Dave is assuming the worst here. Most people who are overemployed are not "cheating" their employers, they are simply working every minute of the work day. I had a job where I always finished my work around 1pm, but I had to be in office to answer the phones until 3pm - My boss was totally aware, but I took on client work to fill that time. I was still working and actually worked even harder. I even ended up automating some systems so I'd be done with my "day job" by 11am and took on a 3rd job. This is the reason I was able to get out of debt. Not every job require 100% attention for the full 8 hours. This is becoming more and more common as people work from home and find ways to speed up their deliverables.

There is production based pay and time based pay. Production based pay: People should be paid 40 hours salary for 40 hours of work while meeting quality expectations. If it takes someone 30 or 50 hours to do 40 hours of work, they get paid the same. If the person working 50+ hours wants to work 40 hours, they get paid less. The opposite for the faster worker. Time-based pay, your ability to do the work faster or not doesn’t matter, it’s probably less stressful for most people, but your company owns your time during the hours you work.

Well with how Dave speaks whether you agree or not he is open to you leaving if it isn’t your fit. And if you look at the hiring process they have in place they are up front about what they expect and what working there is to the point before you even have a job offer they have you show them your budget using what they’ll be paying you and if it doesn’t fit they don’t hire you. So honestly while his practices are weird and can be concerning there’s something to be said about the fact that he doesn’t hide the ball about it so if you take a job with him you know what houre signing up for and choose if that’s what you want or not.

For my part, in my working years I learned high-value skills (industrial machinist in high school, then Marine Naval Aviator and CPA, then just CPA) and could always find a job that seemed to offer attractive conditions. (As an aside, in twenty+ years in Naval Aviation I never met anyone like the characters in Top Gun, even though I sometimes flew the aerial refueler for them. My time in little fighter jets showed me that movie-type tactics would be ineffective and even risky at those altitudes, but they look good in a movie.)

Being a person of faith has little to do with it, businesses are built on gross sales- expenses=profits. We are not slaves, we come to an agreement with an employer that I agree to work for them in exchange for monetary compensation. If I don't like the work conditions or my employer changes the agreement, I can leave and find something else at any time, and I have done so over the course of my career.
