Archspire songs gain a dimension of misery once you know the words that really isn't betrayed by the technicality on the surface. Some really effective horror songwriting across their whole discog.

They're one of the fastest, tightest and heaviest bands going, but they're really not super technical. Not a lot of odd meter, not too much advanced harmony and a lot of pretty simple structures and overall composition. Spawn of Possession, Virulent Depravity, Obscura, Necrophagist of course, are all far more technical. Just off the top of my head.
