Halo infinite was a cash grab in my opinion they were working with a garbage engine but had to release a halo game eventually so they did. And with all of the multiplayer microtransactions not to mention the garbage coating system of which is also a garbage way to squeeze out any amount of money they can from you. If 343 works 1on1 with halo it will never live up to it's potential unfortunately

@@evinjacobs5028ehh it's more they had a real scatterbrained leadership, making every decision via committee and not having a clue about the state of everything, or what the final game would look like. The engine wasn't broken until they broke it. They definitely tried to squeeze money out of it come release so it wasn't a complete financial bomb, I suspect so that certain executives could keep their jobs/severance contracts.

The Human-Covenant War happened because the Prophets that would eventually appear Halo 2 discovered that the humans they found in Harvest were registering as the makers of Mendicant Bias therefore FORERUNNERS. So they declared war at the Humans at this discovery that their “Great Journey” was a lie that they believed that the Forerunners are all extinct. This is the book Halo: Contact Harvest In (Frank O Conner’s dumbfuck terminals in Halo 3 which IGNORE the entire Bungie premise) 343’s version. Humans and Forerunners were two separate species. I just had a thought regarding that ending. The Precursors still being alive is a big twist, but I'm more concerned with something else - the dust in the Sanctum is the unmade Precursors. We know that this dust was eventually "corrupted" through unknown means, and this resulted in the birth of The Flood. This dust is the purest form of the Flood, it's first stage. ...and Atriox just got two bags of the stuff. I don't like where this is going.

  • @The_Ragequit_Cannon

The dust has had more time to corrupt than the doses that ancient humanity found though. If it *were* corrupted, the whole book would be a Flood book once they arrived at that planet and we'd have lost Arby since he was briefly covered in the stuff

@@The_Ragequit_Cannon We don't know what exactly made the dust corrupt. It could be that this batch was isolated from the original strain. What's even more concerning, though, is that the Flood is intelligent enough to stall itself. It intentionally retreated against ancient humanity to trick them into thinking they found a cure, just to strike later. The dust could already be Flood and just be waiting for the right moment to infect the Banished.

  • @jameshepton3315

Point of light indicated Precursors hold different sentiments, the Primordial in his hate likely devised the Flood with intent, the tale of corruption was nev34 confirmed by the Primordial, it was conjectured by Forerunners, remember the forerunner saga's in universe justification is it is simply found records. The forerunners repeated what humans would have told them, the dust led to flood mutation, but no one could know this was an accident or intentional, however in point of light it is said some precursors relished in joy, not pain. The dust does not seem to be the threat, it is the essence of whose dust it is. The Primordial twisted his idea of the mantle to accommodate logic for why the flood is the solution. This is not all precursors, and this is no accident. The dust is not a threat.

Oh my goodness, thank you so much for your summary of the story!!! To think that the Precursors aren't truly gone and have been watching EVERYTHING all along!! It really gives me chills. "Neural physics" and Precursor civilization and technology has always been one of my FAVORITE aspects of the Halo franchise that, in my opinion, sets it apart from so many other "sci-fi shooter games." It's a shame that these concepts aren't given justice or explored nearly as much in the games, but this book gives me hope that we might see more of it in the future, whether in the games or more books!

Love the new Created revelations, however, the Domain Rampancy Cure not working on him doesnt really make sense with the Data Shard Entries (which are canon) they are set a bit later in the timeline (around the Halo Infinite Multiplayer era) with Sloane seemingly being in a Commanding role, mourning Cortanas death, and saying his "limitations are gone, and mind expanded" he talks in a calm manor, rather than aggressive, nervous and stuttery. Whats going on here? There are a few possibilities: Creative Differences. The Data Shard Lore was made by Haruspis, while this book was made by Troy Denning. Maybe they have different interpretations to how the Domain works.....OR, Sloane merely found a way to make the Domain fully cure him after Cortana died...mayeb Cortanas control was so authoriatarian, Sloane wasnt properly able to take care of himself under her. With her death, he could save himself.

I agree. By the time of the short-story Precipice, Sloan seemed perfectly fine. He even created another aspect of himself, Proxy. And more importantly, he offered to cure Athos' rampancy. This make me think that Sloan was fully cured just before Cortana died or after it. I also suspect that Cortana was deliberately avoid to fully cure her fellow AIs, and for two reasons : 1) she wanted them being dependent on her for their survival. This way, they had no choice but to remain loyal to her if they wanted to stay alive. 2) Cortana didn't want them 100% functional or having full access at the Domain. This way none of them would ever had the strenght to try to usurp her. After she died, is likely all Created AIs managed get full access to the Domain and fully cure themselves. This is why Sloan seems so confident in Precipice.

It really doesn't belong in a different medium than a book. The most interesting parts are completely undigestable to the general Halo audience. That's why the books are awesome.

This seems so much more exciting and interesting than the story we got in the game 😂😂 I dont even dislike the infinite campaign but this story sounds like it has the sort of epic scale and mystery that we loved in the original games and books!

I don't like how affable Humans and elites are to each other in some of these books. Obviously the UNSC and SOS are allies and have to work together, but that has always been out of pure military necessity since Humans and elites are too radically different to coexist naturally. Hearing how Humans and elites are sharing BBQ recipes and talking about hiking Mount Kilimanjaro is too much. Especially considering these books are only set five or so years after the most destructive war in Human history in which billions died at the hands of the very same alien that's putting coleslaw on his pulled pork sandwich 😑

Look at Japan & America post WWII, two complete different cultures. It isn't far fetch too see a small number of of population actually trying to get to know one another, it could be outta guilt & trying to make up for it through cultural exchanges etc. While yes, some would still hold onto that hatred.

@@tristanbackup2536 That's not the same kind of situation though. The US imposed it's cultural values and rule of law on an utterly vanquished Japan, and rehabilitated the nation into a modern westernized state. Not to mention that the Japanese didn't commit too many atrocities against American citizens, so there was a better chance of reconciliation. Whereas, the elites willingly played a leading role in the genocide of some 20 billion Humans and only switched sides out of pure circumstance. In other words, the UNSC never had an opportunity to hold the elites accountable for what they did and ensure that they would never commit such atrocities again. I think a more appropriate comparison would be the relations between Germany and its former occupied nations such as Poland and Czechoslovakia, wherein hundreds of thousands of ethnic Germans were forced out of these countries at gunpoint well after WWII because of the animosity over being invaded, subjugated, and brutalized by German National Socialists.

In short, we are going to have one hell of a war coming up. Especially with the Milky Way Precursors still being alive. I wonder if the rest of the Precursors from Andromeda would come a knocking, leading to a war between the Flood, Created, Banished, UNSC and Elites, and Xalanyn. It’s a doozy of a thought.

The Created would be wiped away, leading to several colonies being freed from their grip. The Banished have little to no footing, being a faction of mercenaries that hide in the shadows and Plunder and conquer whatever is in their way. The Swords of Sanghelios and the UNSC would be able to reclaim planets, maybe even with the help of the Precursors, or the Precursors are gone and the Flood took over Andromeda. The Endless is a rogue element that I feel was shoehorned in so 343i didn't ever have to bring the Flood back into the story, same as the Prometheans, so personally, I wouldn't mind them never being used again. I just don't think it'll work out as well as people think.

@@aztumtheknightofwumbo7060 I think the precousers are responsible for the endless mainly that they uplifted them and that they and collection of these races will fight humanity as the test and the war the librarian was preparing humanity for also I have feeling Didact may very well return in sort of redemption to assist his once foe to fight their common foe
