Great capture ! It's rare that Cheetahs dominate other carnivores. The only other time I've seen Cheetahs in the role as bully was 3 Cheetahs bullying a Serval. lol

Cheetahs are probably not going to go up again a pack of wild dogs, but a cheetah has nothing to fear from a single wild dog. There's no competition, a cheetah could easily dominate & kill a single wild dog rather easily. A cheetah is not only larger, but it's also quicker than a wild dog and it has claws. I know that cheetah's claws are not as sharp as the claws of other cats [because they are only semi-retractable], but they still use their claws when they fight & they are formidable weapons.

For those people that say that a cheetah can't dominate anything, remember that in the hierarchy of African predators, it's not just lions, leopards, hyenas, wild dogs and cheetahs. Africa, also, has caracals, severals, jackels, predatory birds, snakes, etc..., so cheetahs are not at the bottom. Another thing, do not confuse a preference to not engage in combat with an inability to fight. A cheetah can most definitely kill a wilddog, it wouldn't even be a match. Despite the wild dog's ability to crush bones, the cheetah with its superior speed, agility and use of its paws/claws would quickly put the dog in a hold and apply the killer bite on the back of the neck. Cheetahs have, also, been shown to take on and beat hyenas when protecting their young.

@@Kratos7686 hyenas are more respectful towards cheetahs compared to other predators. Hyenas act like mortal enemies only against lions and leopards. They steal food from wild dog packs as well.

A cheetah probably can't even beat a caracal. And hyena broken up into 4 species and the only 1 that a cheetah can defeat is an aardwolf.

The cheetah is much larger than the dog. So it doesn’t surprise me that it would chase it. I do think that the cheetah didn’t really want to catch it and risk a fight even though it clearly would’ve won.

No, the cheetah doesn't have a Bette bite force, than wildog, if they did attack, the wild dog would brutally injure cheetahs paws or bone.

@@venombrock2490 no, Dogs bite force is not enough to do damage to bones like Hyena can and if a cheetah can snatch and suffocate large antelope, then it can kill a wild dog. Cheetah aren’t fighters though, they even run when Vultures swarm, poor things are always scared 😁

Cheetah didn't get her furious speed 80-100 KM per hour while chasing wild dogs

Guys can we just let the Cheetah has this victory? There is a time and place where animals will fight back and we don't always have answers for such a thing.

Chad Ramsey It's not about winning or losing. Cheetahs would probably win agaisnt a baboon too, but they won't risk an injury for nothing. Not worth dying of starvation later for not being able to run fast enough.

A male adult cheetah can weight as much as 65 kilos, roughly 140 pounds. Cheetahs, when their cubs are menaced, will fend off hyenas and wild dogs. Cheetahs are frail, but they are big, and aren't exactly defenseless.

I do belive that a cheetah could kill a baboon, however with it's skinny body, weak stamina, small head and non-sharp claws, it would properly end up dying after the fight.

The chase was not a serious pursuit. The Cheetah could easily have caught the dog but just wanted to see it off. Even a minor injury to the Cheetah could prevent it from earning a living through its ability to outrun its prey.

Both of them have powerful jaws. But jaw strength is looked at by size proportion. A wild dog can crush a horse bone with its jaws, hyenas have jaws that can break a rhino's femur in a single bite.

Would like to see that video. I find it extremely difficult to believe. I've seen a single hyena dominate a leopard over a kill, never mind three! Cheetahs are weaker than leopards being lightly built for speed with a smaller head. One on one I just can't imagine a cheetah being dominant.

I've seen those situations too, I wouldn't say the Cheetah is "winning" as much as it's about Hyenas not being blood thirsty beasts that kill any opportunity they get ( like many seem to think ). If there is no food, Hyenas won't fight ( more often than not ).

Wdym pack that’s probably a female cheetah and they don’t live in coalition’s which u call packs and if it were they would be with it so no that cheetah most likely doesn’t have a pack and if it did it would have like 2 friends and the wild dogs have like 20 so wild dogs would piss on them

Cheetahs don't attack to eat the dog, but to defend their cubs, leopards however do attack wild dogs for food , but that is extremely rare, and usually only males will do that

@@alamaniac Maybe so, but they reproduce faster than other top predators and their packs are highly supportive of individuals. I seriously doubt they'll go extinct. As long as they're protected there shouldn't be a problem. The situation is far, far worse for other species like rhinoceros.

The cheetah doesn't really want to catch the wild dog... Watch a wild dog rip it's prey apart and you will understand.

Although I know this is a dog a cheetah has a 50 / 50 chance to defeat a hyena although hyenas have a big bite force cheetahs can also bite the neck and not let go on the other hand cheetahs are really speedy so yeah they can drain the hyenas energy to make them selves easy meat

Dominate? ...I have seen that mother cheetah chasing a lioness, and the lioness was confused, and doubted herself of why a cheetah is chasing her, so she made a run for it. Yet you could easily see on that video, that the cheetah was smart enough to keep her distance while chasing the lioness, because if she gets too close and the lioness turns around, the cheetah would be killed or at least severely injured . Male cheetahs wont challenge a lioness either. Chase away ok, but they will never fight with a lioness.

@Overhead Millitary press slam 2020 i know, that is what i am saying, a lioness would have no problem with any cheetah when it comes to a fight, but i did see a video of a female cheetah chasing a lioness, and because the lioness (and i) never expect that, the lioness ran (not as being scared, but more like, im confused, what does that cheetah got at hand that she dares to chase me), but the cheetah stayed on a distance offcourse she made sure the lioness would not be able the grab her.

What a load of crap lions are the main killers of cheetahs sometimes accounting for 80 percent of mortality so what makes you think a lioness would back down from a cat that is less than half a lionesses weight get your facts straight before putting any more shit on here.

The wild dog has only better stamina, not speed. If they would have run a little longer the cheetah could get him or the cheetah just wanted to scare him away from him

No the cheetah have much stronger bite force the wild dog, the wild dog have a bite force of 317 psi the cheetah have a bite force 500 PSI So the cheetah will easily kill the wild dog

Actually if that dog wanted to it could've dominated the cheetah, I've seen a show where a lone wilddog chase a leopard up a tree and went one on one with a much bigger hyena so it depends on the animal. Plus they mentioned it was two cheetahs so that's probably why the dog ran.

Just moving it on. It wouldn’t want to catch it. Those wild dogs have massive jaws and a strong bite. Not much upside to catching it for a Cheetah.
