Wild Dogs vs Cheetah Standoff Over a Kill

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Grant Fendick (38-year-old Business Owner), was driving along Black Rhino Concession in the Pilanesberg last month when he came across a spectacular once in a lifetime sighting.
Kruger accommodation specials here:
bit.ly/Vacationdeals
Grant shared the video with LatestSightings.com and told us more about his find: “We had come across 3 cheetah brothers that had just killed a wildebeest. We were enjoying this incredible sighting since cheetahs are an extremely rare sighting in the Pilanesberg. We noticed how the cheetahs seemed very skittish and nervous, they had obviously sensed something was out of place.

Then we excitedly caught a glimpse of an approaching pack of wild dogs. They started to approach from the right-hand side, we couldn't believe it. The dogs had noticed the 3 cheetahs on the kill and knew that this was an easy opportunity to get a free meal. The wild dogs started to intimidate the cheetahs and, after a while successfully chased the cheetahs away and finished off the kill in their seemingly brutal way.
It was incredible to witness such an event. The power of the wild dogs taunting the cheetahs and the noises that the dogs were making were so overpowering and haunting, everything was spine chilling.
We were so blessed to be at this sighting. It was life changing. It had taken us 15 years to see the wild dogs in Pilanesberg.

Oh no! Poor cheetahs were literally taunted and bullied out of their well-deserved meal by these wild dogs.I know they're sadly very rare now and seeing this won't have endeared them to many; but I'm glad Grant finally got to see them after waiting for over 15 years. Nature deals harsh lessons sometimes and this is a very good case in point.A brilliant sighting and another excellent upload Nadav~

That’s why cheetahs have to eat as quickly as they can right there after they make a kill because it’s not uncommon for other predators to steal their hard earned meal but that’s how it is in the African bush.

That was an incredible video. I have seen that wild dogs dominate leopards and cheetahs because of the power of the pack. This was a small pack. A larger pack would have taken the cheetah kill more aggressively.

leon3 more incredibly there were 3 cheetahs in total against the 4 wild dogs, yes they had managed to eat for a while before the confrontation but the ratio of cat to dog with the speed dominance was irrelevant the choreographed chaos and taunting was just overwhelming, and any injury to one of the cheetahs really impacts their ability to survive ... being there in the middle of this was absolutely mind blowing

Ppl don't understand what's going on. We only get to see a 2.5min clip where the cheetahs looked pretty full but in actuality this standoff probably took way longer than what you see. The WDs probably had to wait their turn a lot longer than what you see here. The cheetahs are just holding them off long enough for them to get full. If this was a fresh kill and cheetahs just started eating the WDs wouldn't appear so easily victorious. And this would never happen to a coalition of 5 or 6 male cheetahs.

Just My Opinion unfortunately , they are not pack animals, you hardly see them more than two together. Wild dogs are very stubborn, they only afraid of make lion. They will do it to any other animal till the submit. Whether fresh or not once they become aware of it and they are hungry, forget it, they will either fight or bug you to submission.

Idk why Im even responding to yo u cause ur whole statement suggests that yo u don't know shit, therefore yiu aint worth my words. bye

The reason why I said cheetahs and African wild dogs are outcompeted and outmatched is because a lot of their kills are stolen by lions, a predator that both the cheetahs and African wild dogs are outcompeted by.
