Arakmaja - A Moroccan Surf Documentary
Arakmaja is a documentary about Morocco’s surfing culture.
This journey introduces us to people and stories sharing one common thread: the genuine passion for the art of riding waves.
A journey lived through Redouane’s surfing and through the words of pioneer Randolph Benzaquen and shapers Thierry Delbourg and Tarik Zrilida.
Morocco has been, for the last half century, a mystical destination for generation of surfers. While in the last years mass surf tourism has exploded, small family businesses and passionate local surfers like the Regragui’s still embody the genuine essence of a young and vibrant surfing culture.

This is so funny when I saw this film I immediately thought to myself Kevin would love this. And then I look at the comments and your comment was the first to pop up!
Spent some time in 2011 surfing the coast. Beautiful people and culture. Really makes you realize the importance of family, friends, and love in all parts of the world. Local family took very good care of us and treated us like family. Essaouira, Agadir, Dar Buezza,....awesome surf club outside of Casablance which was amazing to see.
So beautiful! I miss Morocco so much!
Hey y'all, I'm beginning another journey this winter from Morocco to Mongolia without flights. I'm a life long surfer traveler though I've been digging myself out of a rut and chose Morocco as a must all winter as I wait for the Balkans to warm up. Just wow, and thank you for creaing this beautiful piece of recorded art. Simply inspiring, on a transcendental level.
Le Maroc est tout simplement magique

Hi Mike, what you're saying it's true. Unfortunately, there are some beaches / towns where it can be risky to surf. Not the norm though and often is enough to move a few km south or north to avoid problems. Hopefully, it will get fixed soon.
