Arai Tour-X5 Function & PinLock Visor Design

Arai Tour-X5 helmet can be mounted with a Pinlock and features a new visor design that is both horizontally and vertically round, which enhances the effectiveness of the Pinlock 120 XLT. The Arai Tour X5 comes with a Pinlock 120 XLT included in the price of the helmet.
Instructions: To mount a Pinlock lens on an Arai Tour-X5 helmet, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the Helmet and Visor: Ensure your Arai Tour-X5 helmet and its visor are clean and dry. It's best to work in a clean, well-lit area to avoid any dust or dirt getting trapped during the installation.
2. Remove the Visor from the Helmet: Carefully detach the visor from the helmet. Most modern helmets, including the Arai Tour-X5, have a simple mechanism for removing the visor without needing tools. Typically, you lift the visor to its highest position and release it from the helmet's retaining clips or mechanism. WARNING: Do not touch the Pinlock on the side that faces the visor.
3. Identify the Pinlock Pins: The Arai Tour-X5 visor will have small pins on the inside. These are specifically designed for attaching the Pinlock lens. These pins are adjustable and allow for tension to be set on the Pinlock lens to create a proper seal.
4. Align the Pinlock Lens: Take your Pinlock lens and align it with the pins on the visor. The Pinlock lens will have holes or notches that correspond to these pins.
5. Attach the Pinlock Lens: Carefully attach the Pinlock lens to the visor by snapping it onto the pins. It's important to ensure the lens is evenly seated against the visor to prevent any air gaps. Adjust the tension on the pins if necessary for a snug fit. It may be necessary to bend out and significantly flex the visor to enable it to fit properly between the pins.
6. Reinstall the Visor: Once the Pinlock lens is securely in place, reattach the visor to the helmet. Ensure it is correctly and securely fitted back into the helmet's visor mechanism.
7. Check for Proper Fit: Before using the helmet, check that the Pinlock lens is correctly installed and there are no air gaps around its edges. The lens should sit flush against the visor, with no ripples or bends.

Hi , thank you for your video, but a correction on your information, the logo ventilation ( the one you said it’s tricky ) is the same pattern, forward is open , meaning if you close it , it will vent air.

Is there some kind of coating on the interior PinLock plastic that you can’t or shouldn’t use gentle all-natural glass cleaner with a microfiber cloth? Thanks

Its a silicone coating that wants to keep particles of water not adhere. The only way to clean it is to remove it and use concentrated Fairy (YES in some countries), carefully and softly work it over the surface, on both sides. The pour lukewarm water and rinse it clean, and allow it to air dry. Only touch the edges. The moment you put any cloth or touch it with your fingers, it’s back to start again and redo it. That’s if you want it perfect. I hope it helps.

I live in Japan, arai will only sell the round shape that doesn’t fit me. The oval shape is made here too but they just won’t sell it to me. I’d have to import it….

I was close to buy from Japan but ended up buying from EU. However, I was told that it’s only the lining that differs. Maybe wrong ?
