Arai has been a Go-To for me for over 2 decades. This is the best review & explanation of this helmet I've seen yet, as this version has been confusing me a bit about upgrading. Thanks! Looking fwd to the comm install vid!

I've been riding in this helmet, the euro version, Quantic, for 2 seasons now, its an awesome helmet for the street, for me its almost perfect, the only gripe I have is a somewhat small chin curtain, other then that, the visor system, the comfort, the ventilation, everything top notch.

I just LOVE Arai. Bought my 10th Arai this year (RX7-V Evo FIM). I started with Arai in 2012 and the only thing that comes very close for me is Shoei.

How do you feel about this lining material vs. the one in the Corsair/quantum X? It looks a bit different, more similar to the regent-x but not exactly. Thanks!

Would this helmet work on an upright naked bike? Not worried about noise as I wear plugs. Mostly worried about wind protection

End of the day they are super similar. The model you noted has some additional ventilation and an aero wing on the back. It's more purpose built for the track where this one is a street helmet that will also be at home on the track. - Van

To be fair they are both excellent. The biggest difference will be the fit. The Arai has a larger opening at the bottom of the shell that makes it easier to put on and take off while using a unique cheek pad design to still get a secure fit. The Alpinestars (and most of the other helmets in this category) use a smaller opening which requires a little more on/off effort but gets you a really secure fit (this is the fit I prefer). The Astars also vents just a little bit better (super close). Hope this helps, I am sure you would love either one. - Van
