STORYLINE:
Palestinian President Yasser Arafat has voiced his sorrow over the loss of long time colleague Faisal Husseini in Brussels on Thursday.
Top P-L-O official Husseini died of a heart attack in Kuwait on in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Husseini, 60, was viewed as a pragmatist by many Israelis.
Arafat addressed the Belgian Senate on the latest stop on a European tour that had earlier taken him to Russia and Denmark
He was due to cut short his trip after meetings with European Union officials later Thursday to fly back for the funeral of Husseini.
Arafat was due to sign an agreement with the European Union to release 60 million euros (dlrs 51 million) in financial aid for the Palestinian Authority.
