@@jncrook5409 piccolos are half the size of flutes and they play an octave higher. This is a regular flute. Look up the arrangement if you don't believe me.

@@writer5790 If you think I am talking about the solo at the beginning of the piece you’d be wrong. I am talking about the piccolo player in general since it is so exposed because of the high tessitura. I appreciate the instrument lesson though!

The oboe soloist is amazing too, such a beautiful round tone. In my wind Ensamble we have the solo on soprano saxophone.

Horns, tubas, euphos, bari sax, alto sax, tenor sax, bassoon, and contra clarinet also play it. Maybe contrabassoon but idk

@Mailthehornplayer but trombone are the ones that play it all the way through most instruments stop by the 2nd time it repeats plus the trombones are the one mostly carrying the sound to that part

@@purgemerlin123 it’s a blessing and gift love, not everyone has a deep passion for music like this and it’s something you work and practice to be better at. It is tough to find people out there with a passion and that are this good at playing. It’s a gift too to have those lungs.

Don’t worry I understand that feeling, tbh I’ve only been playing for a year and four months and my tone as gotten better significantly. I’m not sure how long you’ve been playing for but play with confidence! It all takes time and effort :)

I hope making my own reeds will help my horrible tone. I can’t find a teacher in my area so I’m gonna learn how to make them myself!
I love the trombone feature near the middle of the piece. What an amazing performance!

i like how low brass actually gets attention in songs and has there own special part thats adds alot to the song without just being a bass.
I just saw a middle school band play this piece, the fact that the German wind philharmonic is playing this is insane

This is so technical and beautiful and on the mark. It's less aggressive though?? Like, it's so beautifully executed that it almost lacks some of that aggressive brass ripping I've come to be familiar with in this piece. I just cant hear that the French horns and trumpets had the red ring of death on their lips afterwards! So amazing and delicate :) Hübsch

At 4:25 when they hit that climax brought tears to my eyes. They all rose up as a band and the cord was perfect. Amazing
I absolutely love how the bass clarinet gets recognized during the oboe feature. That is technically my “solo” since I’m the only bass clarinet in wind ensemble. I absolutely love this piece so much

I’m really hoping to push my band director to have us play this song Though after last year and a VERY difficult song choice, I’m not sure he’ll take the risk on a song as technical as this Who knows we also played a different Sam Hazo song for that Same concert that went excellent so he may consider it

My band director said it wasn’t hard enough for what he wanted to do. Because arabesque is a class 4 and he wants to do all class 5 pieces

Thai is probably one of if not the best recordings of Arabesque in my opinion, and I can't get over how good the overall band sonority is

I always will love this song no matter how many times it’s been played or who plays this song. it will always sound so freaking good. also I really like this performance and that it’s played at a little bit of a quicker tempo

We are currently playing this, and I just want to say, from a high school senior, these players are still the best I’ve heard play this so far

@@CrowJoestar pretty well, got an overall 1 but I’m not sure the breakdown of how we did on each piece. I think we got a 1 on arabesque though
This was the last piece my Wind Ensemble played in High School, this recording brought back so many great memories for me, I'm sitting here crying because of how beautiful 4:35 is. Thank you so much, I wish I was there.
