You are absolutely correct. He wrote all this music. He knew it intimately. He played with many of the same musicians over and over they knew his performance style. He was a consummate band leader. This was one of the most highly improvised performances. It is a masterpiece of performance art.

Juan Gabriel also directed singers and orchestras to the T. there's a video of him rehersing with the orchestra and the band and he stops them and tells them they have to follow him, not the other way around. He was quite strict in his ways.

He improvised in his concerts,he didn’t follow the rules so the musicians had to go accordingly to his singing mode, sometimes repeating or extending some of the song’s phrases, I was lucky to go to 4 of his concerts and all of them were a blast, one of Mexico’s best songwriters and singers, he’s really missed by all his fans, when he died, Mexico paralyzed, the whole country, all workers had their day off, and all the country mourned his death.

That 🎵🎶 bit sound like daaaa, da, da,, is signature Juan Gabriel’s in almost every live performance. And yes, the musicians must fallow him. Juan Gabriel improvises a lot. I went to a lot of his concerts and he’ll change the songs completely, he’ll also change the lyrics without warning his band or The mariachi. iit was always fantastic!! ❤. I love your reaction! The song starts with his telling about how he grew up not knowing pain or suffering because that is what his mother taught him. The second part tells about how it all changed when he met HER; she hurt him but it was too late because he already loved her. And the third part tells about how he tells her to leave; he wants nothing to do with her…he’s over it!

Yes, they are following his lead. He was the writer and composer of his songs, so he got to do whatever he wanted with them on stage. Sometimes, he even mixed songs on the spot. No song was the same in his performances. The orchestras or mariachi bands that had to play for him had to be magicians because they never knew what he was going to do next. Juan Gabriel and the musicians really worked magic on the stage.

He did this concert in the Opera House in México City, which was very controversial at the time. It was the first time a non clasic musician did that. Very much critized by the local clasic music crowd, but he filled the opera house every time, and people loved him. Juan Gabriel put his soul in every son. His concerts lasted 2 hours plus, he was unique. He wrote for many musicians. He wrote a lovely song for Isabel Pantoja, and invited her to sing it in one of his shows. I cried when i heard her, singing to him. "Isabel Pantoja.. Así fue.. México 2014

This is a breakup song. He never knew pain until he met her, he was happy eventhough she didn't give him much love, now wonders if it was with it but either way he never wants to see her again. I was lucky to have been able to attend his concert twice. The last time my husband and I took my 70 year old mom and her cousin. They were like teenage girls walking hand in hand. Women and men both loved him especially the moms felt a connection to him due to him being abandoned in an orphanage as a child. He sand from his heart. Songs of happiness, love, sorrow, pain and celebration. There will never be another Juan Gabriel. They made a series about his life that tells the amazing story about his struggles and journey to fame. Being born into poverty, Going to jail where he wrote many songs, rejection of his feminine look, and eventually being at the top. He was and continued to be loved by people of all ages. Sadly he passed away shortly after the last episode. Thanks for this video. The series is called "Hasta que te conocí". Part of this video is in the series.

It's good that you liked Juan Gabriel, he is a very important artist not only for Mexico and he speaks Spanish, but for the whole world, it is clear that even if you do not speak the same language, he was able to transmit his performance, apart from the fact that he had a voice beautiful, and he composed his own songs, did his own shows, every time he talks to people and laughingly tells them not to yell at him, or whistle at him, because they provoke him to be more sexy and a dancer, as well as always shouting to live Mexico, your country. Greetings from CDMX Mexico.

Through that joyful beat just know it's actually pain. Something that cuts into your heart and yet make it sound like it's no big deal. Definitely need a drink listening to this.

Your reaction is absolutely spot on. He is crying with his voice. This song, the lyrics to this song are DEEP. It’s a song that hits you in the gut. NO ONE can sing this same song these words like he can. It’s pure poetry. No matter how many times I hear the song it always pulls emotion out of me. Music transcends language this amazes me every time.

Juan Gabriel was sublime, his writing, performance, voice, everything!!!.... This song is one of my favorites Is almost like 3 in one, at the beginning is slow and sad because he is basically telling a story about when he was little his life was so happy, full of love , there was never suffering or sadness.... UNTIL... he met her, and the music changes because now he's saying how this personal ruined him, so there's anger in the words, he started living in depression, everything was sad and lonely, he was happy when he could get the love scraps, and then he realized he shouldn't love that person because it wasn't good, it was toxic... And at the end it gets fun and happy because it's his personal growth, he is happy that he got rid of that so he admits meeting that person was the worst, but never again, now he will make sure they never see each other again so it's a happy new begging He was just amazing I love when you said he didn't sing to people's ears he sings to the hearts, you could feel the song through him !!!

It’s so beautiful to see somebody react to a song I’ve know since I was a little child, and also Juan Gabriel it’s so widely known for us, Spanish speakers, that we sometimes forget how awesome he is, we listen to his songs, we cry with his songs, we love his singing, but he’s an even more amazing performer. Love his music, and watching him live, was out of this world.

Juan Gabriel is 100% real. He had a very, very difficult life. His family were very poor. They were peasanst in Michoacan, Mexico. He was the last of ten brothers and sisters. His father had a mental condition. He was interned in a mental hospital and they never knew what happened to him. Then, his mother moved with her children to Ciudad Juarez. She wasn't able to feed them, so Juan Gabriel went to a kind of orphanate since he was five years old. There Juan Gabriel met a teacher who taught him music and how to work. His life was very difficult. But I think he is a genius. He learned how to play guitar and write songs.

the whole performance of this song from this concert is followed by a medley that stretches to a whole 25 minutes and it's the most beautifully connected piece of music I have ever heard.

This is the best way to say that music is universal, Juan Gabriel was a high-quality singer-songwriter, seeing him live made you feel joy, nostalgia, shook the deepest part of your being, vibrations in each song were worth every coin you paid for his concert. he gave himself body and soul!!!
