    Why does it feel like they're taking inspiration from aq3d mechanics (the failed one) for this game? I hope this ends up being fun and actually playable and i hope they're not doing what i think they're doing

    They really be focusing on converting existing items when they can just focus first on abased functional game like maybe just complete the mechanics and start off finishing greenguard map before anything else

    so they might as well created a new game then so different from the original concept that is aqw 2 than just a conversion to unity i mean the current aqw is pretty much class focused and the class will be so diff with this one like the farming classes will be either not work with this system or be clunky and needs a rework still be exciting though

    Dunno but sounds like Dungeon Fighter Online-ish (or they inspired by old arcade beat-up style) The idea is kind of ambitious, many AQWorlds players have been used to static play (with the exception of those who frequently do certain ultra bosses). I do not know how many would be happy or disappointed with their idea of changing the play style. Let them cook, I guess? It is still a trial phase after all.

    personally i think they should focus on converting the current classes OVER before working on classes that work differently..cause u know, at least we can play the game with our classes.

    I don't know how I feel about some of these. Some classes being vastly different is exciting and fun but it shouldn't be a blanket change in my opinion. Let me just spam buttons with LR with my brain turned off lol.

    Incoming long af reply: Hi, I am a long-time AQW player that just got back into the game last Christmas after taking a 6-year or so break. I've wanted to explore sharing my opinions on AQW online since my return, but real life circumstances aren't making that realistic right now. The best I can do is say what I can about this AQ2D business. In a nutshell it looks like AE is really in the weeds now with trying to develop a port of AQW while simultaneously creating a fresh experience that fits all of their targeted platforms. With how much waiting that has taken place for this game to release, they seem HIGHLY ambitious about the release version of the game, even though it very clearly looks to still be far off. Hearing cool ideas and entertaining them is nice and all but it's all talk at the end of the day. This tech demo tomorrow (which I won't be able to play even though I bought a big membership back in December...) is a test that I would hope demonstrate that there is substance to back up at least a few of claims from these news posts. What I mean by that is I really wish AE can band together and stick with a vision for the game rather than continue on with news posts filled with grand ideas like their heads are in the clouds. The more posts I see on the AQ2D website about "future plans", in the context of the time since the announcement that they have started development, the more it begins to make me feel concerned about how this is going to look like AQW as previously stated. The mechanics discussed this time around sound quite different from a game that's supposed to resemble AQW. I haven't had access to the previous tech demos to know if any or all of these additions were predictable from a player's perspective. Movement, first of all, sounds like it will depend on the inclusion of scrolling, non-single screen areas which, if I have this right, necessitated the coding of a new hitbox-based combat system. Movement is hardly a big feature in AQW combat (it has its part to play in dodging certain boss attacks and PvP, but not the other 99% of the gameplay). Clicking a monster to begin AutoAttacking and managing cooldowns is the combat's foundation in my eyes. If movement will be fundamentally changed to be integrated into the combat, it opens up a heap of questions. How will monster targeting work? Will monsters lose focus on attacking you if you are in the state of moving? How does a monster know when to move to hit another player that is aggro, and can non-combatant players be inside a monster's hitbox and not get hurt? How many Beat 'em Ups have the developers played? Choosing to alter the importance of visual placement during combat in an RPG is a critical move to make. It's going to make or break AQ2D's ability to play like it's either AQW's refresh or a completely different game. ...Okay this is super informal for such a long post, but the amount of info from this one update is immense and I don't know how to continue writing this tonight. For now I'll just say that Demolition Man is a dang good movie.

    the reason I didn't buy CCS calendar class is because that class has no auto attack lol. i can't be bothered pressing 1 while doing other skill and then taunting. but then again CCS is much worth it of not having auto attack because it's fast and strong. but if it's classes that 1st skill are pretty useless, then without auto attack that would be suck.
