    1. They bought a dam too short to go all the way around in a COMPLETE circle. 2. They didnt use use stakes to keep the dam narrow and tall instead on fat and low. 3. They set it up WAYYY too far from the house making the needed length too long to make a circle. They product works. You just need to be smart. That dam he bought should be 30" high after installed if done correctly.

He obviously didn't set his up properly. Looks like it wasn't even surrounding the entire property. Looked uneven in places and Dende still has my extra ps4 controller.

If the water is higher than the dam, no structure in the world will keep your property dry.

They installed it incorrectly. I don’t see a closed loop. So of course water is going to seep in. Common sense dictates you need to have the aquadam all around your house in closed loop

And you always have to pump, even with the correct setup. They absolutely work - there's plenty of evidence - when installed correctly, but they aren't magic and they don't work by themselves.

All this video shows is that they didn't get a large enough aquadam. Not the fault of the product if you get one that's too small!

well duh. it all depends on how tall the floodwaters get and how tall the aquadam is. You could always lay two on top of each other- that would have worked. or add a tal layer of sandbags or concrete to keep the aquadam structure taller.

If you lay two on top of eachother, the aquadam on the base might burst since it might not be designed to resist that much pressure

This is such a powerful crucial video! It brings up the #1 most important point about these AquaDams that most people don't realize: they're only worthwhile if you know AHEAD OF TIME how high the water levels will get! You could blow $8K like this poor guy did on a 3-foot tall barrier tube, but guess what: if Mother Nature has other plans, and the high-water level ends up being 4-5 feet higher above your ground level, then guess what? Your 3-foot high Aqua Dams are now worth exactly $0 dollars :( Still I'm going to look into this option more because I live in a flood plain, and it'd be nice if these things were available to rent from local home-improvement stores or construction supply house type places.

Also a good thing to note is that he might have tried to save as much of his property as possible and stretched his Aqua Dam too wide and hence he didn't create a closed loop like he should have.

@@007bogossemre007exactly. You could tell he knew he effed it up which was also why he projected confidence about running it back and fairing better the 2nd time lol. Guess his lots on a slight hill or something so he thought he could stop the head on flow and disperse it around and down behind him maybe? Lol idk bc making a partial border around your home to keep water out is the same as having 7/10th of a swimming pool and expecting to keep water in lol 😂

If the dam is full of water, once a flood comes and gets up to near its top, the dam will have near-neutral bouyancy and water could also come underneath. Or am I missing something?

The best way to avoid flooding is to build your house on a high base surface above the ground if you are constructing on from scratch or on high elevated hill ground but if already build on flat surface I'm afraid that there is no solution to this, floods have unpredictable behaviour.

Did unitedstaters ever consider building houses (with real bricks from bottom to top) instead of foam, plywood and drywalls?? Also, not building in the street/soil level but rather at least 1m up? These situations are so frequently and yet they keep building these shacks, paying the amount of a mansion and calling it a house 😂😂😂

I know people live in houses they can afford but if you live in a known flood/ hurricane area and your home gets destroyed, damaged or need to be rebuilt. Why do you keep rebuilding the same house that doesn't give you any protection. When I lived in the area I saw many houses on stilts or made if this happens. It does cost more but not as much as if you had to rebuild the house 5 times. The same goes for houses in wild fire areas they also have special things you can do to protect your home.
