If you go back and watch this very closely you can see and appreciate the immense amount of in jokes, references to episodes, and cameos from every other iteration of the theme song in this opening. Just goes to show you that the creators actually really care about this show and now adult swim has lost their longest running show and my personal favorite, it will be deeply and unfathomably missed.

Man, Shake's anime scream is actually legit. 10/10

This show will never truly die, and that makes me insanely happy. It's a shame Metalocalypse never got this kind of treatment outside of the new movie and album, but one out of a number of shows isn't too bad.

Okay so i finally managed to look the entire show and this is all the references i saw in the intro 0:01 Oglethorpe (at the left), Ebory (at the right) and the Mooninites (at the back) 0:06 Willie Nelson (at the upper left), Happy Time Harry (at the bottom left) and Svetlana (at the right) 0:08 Rabbot (at the left) and Markula (in the car at the right) 0:10 the back is basically the background used in the intro for the first 7 seasons 0:13 the billboard has a fragment of the Aqua Unit Patrol Squad intro 0:14 Jimmy the Wizard and Cybernetic Ghost at the right, and a fast appearance by Err at the right of Frylock 0:15 Freda at the right of Meatwad, the background is also used in the intro of Aqua TV Show Show 0:22 Travis of the Cosmos is seen briefly at the right window when Frylock is walking to the chair 0:26 Oog, the Creditor and one of the Frat Aliens (in that order) 0:43 Carl and Dr Weird (Dr Weird has a snake tattoo which reasambles to Freedom Cobra) Now according to the wiki... Steve and Dusty Gozongas appeared in this intro, but i didn't saw them, just one shadow at 0:31 in the bottom right which looks like Steve, if anyone has info on when they appear, i would appreciate it

I love how a lot of these scenes are based off the original ATHF Opening scenes just with the animation quality they always wanted to illustrate those scenes plus the callbacks to prominent side characters that only appear once is a beautiful touch too!

The fact that Mike Lazzo canceled this show despite the wishes of the creators to continue, and despite the wishes of the fans who want it to go on, shows just how miserably out-of-touch he is with the fanbase. But maybe that's it . . . he just wants to get rid of everybody who once loved Adult Swim and start anew with something more generic, and thus more appealing to a broader (if less enthusiastic) demographic.

BTW the only reason this show was cancelled was because some guy leaked the "bomb incident" episode. Cartoon Network said they would axe the show if that ever leaked.
