Hi Allan. I was looking at your information on the bottom and you said the heat transfer paper at 300° for 20 seconds but on the heat transfer vinyl it says 320 for 15 to 20 seconds. my question is to you. What setting did you have the heat transfer vinyl on was at 300 or 320? Because I did not see you change your temperature on your pressing machine when you did the little green leaves.

Thanks for your question. I left my temperature at 300F for the heat transfer vinyl in the video. Heat transfer vinyl can be pressed between 300F and 350F. Sometimes depending on the vinyl you can use a lower temperature or even a higher, but yes in the description I mention you can use 320F for heat transfer vinyl but I used 300F in the video which can be used. Both can work for you. I hope you understand and if you don’t let me know and I will try to clarify some more.

Excellent & comprehensive presentation brother! Thank you for this video. How does the 3G Jet Opaque hold up in the wash pressing at lower temp of 300 degrees? And how long did you press the HTV with it?

Thanks for your support, question and comment as usual. When applying the 3G jet Opaque you normally use 350F at 30 seconds. However, when applying it to dark colors you have to reduce the temperature, time and pressure. If you don’t the dark color would bleed through the Heat transfer paper. With the HTV I press it for 15 seconds with the Heat Transfer paper. I hope this helps 💪

You keep saying heat transfer vinyl, but on your description you say heat transfer paper. So I’m still trying to understand on the heat transfer paper is 300 Fahrenheit for 20 seconds. BUT what about the heat transfer VINYL is it still at 300 Fahrenheit and for how many seconds should I press that?

I am not sure if you saw the message i sent earlier when i responded to your previous message. However, what I have wrote in the description is correct. Let me break it down for you. For reference i will use (HTV for Heat Transfer Vinyl and HTP for Heat Transfer Paper). When using the brand of HTP, in the video the temperature ranges between 300 -350 F. Let me go into more detail to assist you. Once you are pressing HTP onto light color shirts or garments you can use the temperature 350F for 20 seconds. However, if you are using HTP on dark color shirts or garments you have to drop the temperature to 300F for 20 seconds. The reason for this is because using the HTP on dark color shirts or garment at 350F will cause alot of bleed. This means that the darkness of the shirt or garment will come through the HTP, causing your image to be either darker or black. Therefore when pressing on dark color shirts or garments we drop the temperature to 300F at 20 second to reduce bleed and damage to the HTP/image. Once its a light color garment or shirt you can take the temperature up to 350F for 20 seconds. In the description of the video, i mention that you can use 320F for 15- 20 seconds with HTV. This is also correct. Please note you can also use 300F for 15-20 seconds for HTV. To make it even better for you. When pressing or using HTV, most of the temperature rangers from 300F sometimes up to 350F and the time frame can run between 15-20 seconds. So in this regard once you stay between the range of 300F-350F you will be good. However, take note that you don’t want the vinyl or the shirt to burn so you have to be careful when taking the temperature high. So to conclude: With HTP use 300F for Dark color garments and 350F for light color garments for 20 seconds. With HTV use between 300F and 320F for your garments for 15 - 20 seconds or look to see if your vinyl came with specific temperature settings. I hope this answer was more clear.

Hi Allan. On the heat transfer paper what is the name of the stuff that you applied it to to transfer onto the shirt. And is it heat resistant to where it won’t melt on my shirt?

Thanks for your question. I believe you are referring to butchers paper or Teflon sheets. It protects the image when you pressing the heat transfer paper. Let me know if that’s what you are referring to.

@@atprints I seen a video where they use heat transfer paper for dark shirts. And they print and cut the image out and then they remove the unwanted outside of the image. And then they put the clear stuff over the image and lay it on the 👚 shirt and heat press it. Cause when u use the NEENAH HEAT TRANSFER PAPER FOR DARK SHIRTS you have to remove the back of it. Then put the image on the shirt. But what happen is when I place it on the heat press. It starts to curl up and that makes it hard to press. So u know that the clear stuff is called ?

@@christinabarnes1105 thanks for explaining. I now understand. It’s a heat transfer paper mask. What it does is when you are finish print and cutting you pace it down on the design and it picks up the entire image. You can find some one amazon, however there are so many different types so you have to be careful with the one you choose. Also to help you with the curling up of the design, make sure when you pre press the shirt that you allow it to cool down a little before positioning the heat transfer paper on the shirt. If the shirt is hot and you position the heat transfer paper then it will sure start to curl up. So let the shirt cool for a couple seconds and if your using a swing away press move the heating element so the heat wouldn’t go on it right away. Hope this helps.
