You can tie or loop a lanyard around the post that the clip screw goes through, there’s plenty of clearance away from the blade and then the lanyard just sticks straight out the back. Very clean looking.

I got these scales in brick red. They feel better than the base FRN handles, with barely any increase in weight. The cerakote/minor texturing they have seem to do well when it comes to the grip. I also have what seems like the only other scales to be found for the para 3 LW, which are the titanium ones that don't really have any extra milling to lower weight. Which makes them feel like heavy slabs compared to these scales.

I actually love the super lightweight plastic scales on the Para 3, but after the last time I took it down for cleaning I've never been able to get the blade recentered. Not a minor thing, I'm talking completely off center and rubbing like crazy. Looks like it's time for the AWT scales for this knife too, just got their email that they're available now!

18:59 lol that was my experience with my two rex 45 blades. I thought sharpening was going to take forever but on both knives it was actually one of the best sharpening experiences I've had. The steel removal isn't the fastest but it's not slow either, and once you get to the actual apex and burr removal it's so predictable and does exactly what you want. The toothy edges with that steel are insane, only steel I've used that doesn't smooth out after a couple hours of yard work.

@@sal1964 no worries bud, simple mistake. Just commented to let ya know.
That large metal insert is where the bronze washer is placed! The plastic/FRN side is without a washer. Guessing you didn’t change out the scales yourself?
These look great from a good company. My only problem is the material. Aluminum scales are so 30 years ago! I love how g10, micarta, and even titanium ages. Aluminum? They end up looking like an old fry pan. But I realize their function is still good. Just not with the times.

@Knife&compass My old Benchmade Stryker has got worn smooth parts and damage that adds character and feels good in hand. 20 years of carry and it’s better than new imho. My Paragon aluminum handled knives look and feel worse with time. Lots of chips.

@@ericasedc i realize you’re past this and moved on to a retro vibe but i finally got the AWT for para 3 lw and they’re awesome! Great fit, liner delete, and machining. Probably order from them again. And it’s hard to beat s90v for around the ocean. P.s. sorry about last comment i posted about t shirts. Seemed innocuous to me…
Thay are out of stock 😒

@@ericasedc yeah i know but im new to the spuderco seen
not beautyful and not balance...
i have a para 3 lw in awt scales just like yours. Is it normal to have a small amount of blade play? if I tighten the pivot screws to the point where there is zero blade play, it is not drop shut anymore.
