Today, we'll take apart a knife that's very interestingly made, with a shockingly good action, the Spyderco Para3 Lightweight.
Here's Eric Glesser's Breakdown Video: • Spyderco Para 3 Lightw...

At the end of all things, the two things that will bring Nick the most satisfaction: the improvement of Spyderco and the popularity of the name "pocket pecker."
I thought the other video on the pm3 was on the lightweight and learnt this is the one I should be watching as I'll be putting back together my first spyderco similar and I'm just stoked that I'm going to be in the big kids club finally! As my friend says "Every knife collector needs a Spyderco" and we'll I'm just so so grateful towards this wonderful community for sure! Nothing better in my humble opinion! Watching from the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island in Canada thanks for sharing! Cheers, Kimmers and Jerbs #22ADAY I'll never quit quitting 👍🏻🇺🇸🔥🔪🔥🇨🇦👍🏻
I really think that this one of the best edc knives. It has the lightness of a delica with the lock and bladestock of a para3.
a lightweight with actual screws... finally.
Love the video! Watched both.
Great Vid Nick. I appreciate your efforts. I hope you recuperate soon. 🙏🏻👊🏻🤙🏻✌🏻😀
Thanks Nick.
Wow really amazing looking knife!!!

Yeah, amazingly cheap looking. It's a knife blade plus 32 cents worth of FRN and some miscellaneous metal bits with a street price of about $120 (MSRP $165) for the plain-Jane model. 🤭🙄😐
Best production knives company on the planet. Period
Mine arrives tomorrow along with a Ganzo!
Just seen the video, keep it up love your videos 😀
Still have mine, still love it. I have come to prefer the 20CV banter however.
Phosphor Bronze washers can be had in such thin widths I would probably add one anyway.

Do you know the exact size ? Having centering issues that is driving me nuts.
Hope You Feel Better nick thanks good disassembly video oh how much better do you find the blue loctite stick vs the liquid
WoW can't believe theres like no liner on the right side 🤯 I still love my G10 Para3 tho!✊💪🏻🇺🇸
hi i like you’re video keep going.. i have problem with my para 3 lightweight that i cant centering it’s go to left to much and when i loosen its dont make a different please gave me a good answer
Nick any chance you are going to review the endela?
I think the design of this knife functions a little better with grease instead of oil. I use EWG (extreme weapons grease) on mine and it functions great.

EXTREME
For me, nothing beats the delica for edc use. The blade stock thinness is lost on this para 3. I have a chaparral but still prefer the delica
Hi Uncle Nick, where did you purchase your alcohol 🍸 I'd very much likecto pick up a bottle for myself with the top pump like yours. Thank you
Nice tools👍 where can I buy those? Thanks in advance
Thank you for the video!! Do you know which screws are those? I need to replace mine and I was wondering if they are standard and I can buy them somewhere?

Email Spyderco for some
I’ve got up and down blade play when the knife is closed. That can’t be normal can it
What are the screw sizes?!
My clips screw spins freely, what do I have to do with it?
I kinda think you should steal the thumbnail idea from the Spyderco breakdown videos. I like how they use a picture from the middle of the disassembly with all the parts and tools laid out; it looks really nice and gets the point across well. It would also help to set apart the thumbnail from your review videos now that they both use the same background.

What tools do you use in this video? thanks
What are those drivers and where can I get a set?

Are there any aftermarket grips being made for this yet? I see a ton that say for the para3, but never mention the LW.

Great knife but the stud for the pocket clip screw rotates on mine when I try to disassemble. Can't get it apart...driving me nuts
What are those tools?
hi great videos what type of oil lube should I use with my Para 3 lightweight?
@ReapersEDC

I use nano oil 10w on all my spidercos and rat2
I wonder if you can put other scales on these? For example get rid of FRN for TI or carbon fiber aftermarket?
@IchNixHabenUsername

Just buy the regular para 3 with after market scales :)
Did I miss the explanation as to what happened to the iFixit type bit drivers and why the Ferrari cost class ones are still in use?

No
What happened to Nano oil? Is the oil you used on this knife better? I agree with you about blade thickness.a bit of overkill imho. Thanks for posting.
@Pmike404

You can really use just about any oil, Benchmade Blue lube, Daiwa reel oil, and Bali slime are all great to use. Nano oil works well but is really expensive compared to the other three I listed.
i have a para 3 lightweight, i want to buy the g10 scales, i worry if the landyard hole with work with those g10 scales!
Why did he only lock tight one side of the screws? The other side he dosent use any locktight?
Any idea where to get replacement hardware, particularly the pocket clip screw/holder? I stripped mine horribly :(

How do you remove the screws with blue locktite?? I wanted to take My para 3 apart so that I could try to add a bronze bushing from a Tenacious but I can't because of the stupid locktite

Why do Americans in particular say "I'll see if I can't" when what they mean is "I will see if I can." I don't get it. You're saying the opposite to what you mean.

Think logically. He’s going to both see if he can’t AND if he can. Understand? Can I? Yes. Can’t I? No. Or alternatively, can I? No. Can’t I? Yes. That is always going to be the case.
I love spyderco but...yuck..! I can’t put my trust in that system
No reason to disassemble.
I look at this and I think WTF makes this worth 100 bucks good grief.
I don't like plastic knives
Okay, Para 3 msrp $200+. Para 3 lightweight msrp $140. Why are you paying so much money? For a plastic knife? Thank God for Cold Steel.

I agree. That is why I always carry the Cold Steel XL Espada in my pocket. and at nearly 16 oz, I can even use it as a make shift hammer. Bonus, it take ages to cut through a whole pig with a super light weight knife with a just under 3 inch blade, so it clearly only a loser would pick it against a true beast of a knife. Go Cold Steel!

You don’t cut with the handle but With the blade. You are paying mostly for the steel. I’ve read stories of peoples Spyderco knives Accidentally going through the washer and dryer and coming out fine. Just ordered my first one so we will see.

I own 2 CS knives. A Limited edition espada w/coyote tan handle scales and a Lynn Thompson signature Voyager with green handle. they Are both made of high end stainless steel and would make excellent self defense weapons But honestly just a little large to make good edc knives and 2. Even before CS sold out and went out fo business they were worth a lot of money. Now I see on eBay they are selling for $300-$700 apiece so no way I am going to carry them now. Just ordered my first Spyderco. Something Edc that I will actually use and abuse like my Tops Longhorn bowie or esse 3.
Can't believe how cheaply made this is
