Thanks for the comparison definitely going to take the SE here in central america series 7 is double the price than the series se for what I understand just a slight improvement thats not that noticeable

Im using series 7 right now. While I do love the fast charging, snappy performance, accurate health monitoring and fitness tracking. Battery life is too short which can affect its longevity after 2 years of use.

They probably expect you to trade it in for the latest version every couple of years most people do

I was wondering if you could also measure the accuracy of the GPS of each smart watch in your videos for 2022 instead of just the precision. Of course, only if you find it to be helpful. It could help us see if the watches are recording GPS the same way every time. And it also puts confidence in each comparison with only one sample size per watch.

I’m torn between SE and a Garmin, maybe 745 or 245? I got an SE on sale, but then I read that cross country skiing isn’t supported? I cycle all year round (indoor/ outdoor ) and do cross country in the winter. Not sure if SE is as solid as I hoped or if a Garmin would be a better alternative.

Went for my usual 6 mile run a couple of days ago and the GPS on my SE was off by a little over 1/10th of a mile. It was a clear night so don’t know why it would be so far off. It’s never done that before. So my run was about a minute too long. Very annoying!

What’s the fitness app he use on his apple watch again ? Is it pre-installed on the watch ?

Great review, but once Apple decides to improve the battery life of the damn thing, I’ll consider buying it, in the meantime I’ll keep using my Garmin Fenix 5X..!!

How is he viewing the Heart rate data in such detail? all the apps ive used only allow me to view heart rate in increments of 30 minutes throughout my workout. I would like the ability to see what my heart rate was at a particular minute and second in my workout.

Awesome job Des, does AW use their own gps when paired to the phone or it takes from the phone?

Thanks! If your phone is in range it will try to use your phone's GPS.

While the AW is an amazing smartwatch, I bought a proper running/fitness watch because the battery is just horrendous.

Thank you for the effort you put into your reviews! I recently switched from a Venu to AW7 and I am just not getting good GPS accuracy with the AW (it is gps only version and I never run with my phone). My routes have light to medium tree cover and some slight rolling hills. I’ve ran multiple official 5ks and track workouts with the Venu, which had very little gps discrepancy. This is just not the case with AW7. Any suggestions or recommendations? Should I just give up on the AW and go back to Venu? I would appreciate your opinion. Thanks for your help!

That's strange - I've seen pretty good results from the Series 7 although I still do get better results from most Garmin devices.

Hi there. Nice video. Subscribed. I never had Apple Watch before and I am looking to get one. I’m already in the Apple ecosystem. Do you recommend getting a series 6 or a series 7? I have a chance to buy a used stainless steel series 6 for around $300. I also want to take a vantage of sleep tracking and I’m wondering if the battery in the 7 will make that much of a difference to help with that. Thanks

Battery life seems to be ever so slightly better but by mere hours. You can disable some features like the always on display which can extend battery life a bit. One thing I think is especially nice on the 7 is the fast charging. Thanks!

I don't understand how apple advertises this watch for health tracking and its 2021 apple watch doesn't even have a body temperature sensor, a feature that has been available for years in even $30 smart watches.

The watch face? It's the Nike Bounce watch face

I bought an SE-Nike for my first Apple Watch over the 7 as I’d never use the 02 or ecg and side by side the size wasn’t noticeable unless it was using the 7 specific face, One note I’ll add my watch came with a usb-A charger not a usb-C which tbh I was happy about as it saved me buying another plug !

Just bought my first Apple Watch and got the Nike version. So far I love it. There are tons of alerts that keep popping off so I’m still tweaking that. But my watch isn’t tracking my sleep or when I take naps. Any tips?

Buy auto sleep for the watch, it monitors sleep automatically, something the default apple app doesn't do

You think you’d be able to do an 8 hr ride on one full charged of the series 7 watch? I’m really curious how long the battery last on this watch. I’m also a road cyclist.

That would be pushing it. 6-7 hours would be a safer bet.

Seems to be within the same ball park as a fingertip SPO2 sensor although a fingertip sensor will provide better results.

Both are great watches but what makes it a no go for me is the battery life. I’m currently rocking a Garmin Venu 2 on one wrist and Apple Watch 3 on the other wrist (half of my family is on each platform and I love to compete) and the battery life just kills the experience. I can’t tell you how much sleep data I’ve missed out on Apple Watch due to not charging it (even with the phone reminders) or even just normal HR data. Yes I know the 7 has the fast charging but as someone that has a 2 year old child, remembering to charge is towards the bottom of priorities. Thanks for the good comparison video though!

great watch although it would be appreciated if apple would make it more durable and water resistant as i'm still hesitant to use it for any outdoor activities other than normal swimming and running sessions.

That is what Apple say about it… Only use it for surface swimming, trying to scuba dive with an Apple Watch is asking for trouble because of the mechanics of how the pressure on the watch will be working against whatever Apple has done to make Apple Watch “water resistant” not waterproof (there is a big difference between the two…). I have a dive computer which also shows the time so I’d never be tempted to try wearing my Apple Watch Series 7 during even the shallowest of dives.

@@aicha454 Surfing while wearing Apple Watch is well within it’s capabilities of not being damaged by water exposure. In fact Apple Watch has helped folks who got into difficulties that could have cost them their lives by being able to allow the wearer to call for help from the rescue services and living to tell the tale! Hopefully one day Apple will give Apple Watch the ability to be worn whilst scuba diving, until then my Apple Watch will stay safe & dry on land when I’m diving (I’ve worn Apple Watch many times when snorkelling without it coming to any harm…).

Guys please help me, or I will hang myself on the next available hook!!!! I have tried to contact NRC via chat, nothing! Email, nothing! I have a very annoying issue, ongoing for ages, just became worst in the recent months! When out for a run, my app keeps jumping between distance, calories, heart beat, etc, than back again randomly. Also, auto-pauses my workout, although it is set for NO AUTOPAUSE! Jumping songs as well recently, getting worse. I have been using Apple Watch series 3, Nike version, did the same. Now I am using series 7, new watch, doing it every single day! Any ideas??!!!!!! Thanks in advance!
