Curious do you own the Leather Link band? Either way what do you think about it?

I have both baltic blue and chalk, I can’t believe how awesome they are. Can’t use any bands other than the leather link. Love your channel btw! Keep up the good work. 👍

Just got the saddle brown for my space black steel watch and love it, even more than my insanely expensive apple steel link bracelet which I did not think was possible lol

@@TheAppleBias Highly recommend it! Love the saddle brown color, matches amazing w my MagSafe wallet and black leather 12 mini case. Apple really nailed the fit and finish of their accessories lately (aside from the abysmal "patinas" on the 12s leather cases)

LOL, love and appreciate this video! I saw your original review and almost didn't buy one. I ended up getting it anyway and I've been wearing it everyday, well over a year now! It's still in great shape and it's never fallen off. I love it! So glad you gave it a second chance and appreciate your update!

Thanks yeah I never want to misguide and after so many people was telling me the band worked well for them I had to give it another try.

Thank you for being so honest with your audience. I’m buying a Series 8 in a couple of months or so and after watching this video I decided to go for the leather link band. Greetings from Spain!

Makes sense that the larger/longer band would hold tighter as there are more magnets involved, that are touching each other. So although you don’t want that excess of band past the bottom of your wrist, it’s technically increasing the strength of the closure. Use the longer size band and have it go all the way up the side. Based on a look at his wrist, it doesn’t look bulky or bad at all.

Yeah the excess doesn’t bother me at all. The reason I didn’t go with the large from the beginning was that the old style the Leather Loop band they sold I got it in large once and it looped all the way around and had some excess hanging over. I figured this one would have done the same.

You really just moved up a lot in my rankings of tech youtubers but also my respect for your skyrocketed. Your video made me not want the leather link originally (which is ok! I’m happy with the one I went with) but now that I know this, I’m interested in filling my “not having a saddle brown colored band” void. Thanks again!

Thanks for making your video's and being honest. My wrist size is also around size 7 (precise) and 8 (comfortable) for the solo band. This comes down to a wrist size of around 17cm (16.7-17.4 to be exact). With respect to the 45mm watch size Apple advices the S/M band for a range between 14-18cm and the M/L band for a range between 16.5cm and 20.5cm. Normally I would have gone with the S/M because imo it looks better, because the "locking mechanism" is esthetically more pleasing behind your wrist. This is also how Apple visually presents the bands in their webstore. After seeing your video's, however, I am strongly leaning towards your advice with going for the M/L version :)! I am still wondering though if the magnets were not defective on yours (as you imply), so might order both the try out myself. I saw your comment about a friend who has a slightly bigger wrist (solo 9) and is perfectly fine with the S/M.

Yeah the leather link if a tough one. If you have a store nearby. They usually have the bands available to try on. I’m sure they’d have both sizes. My wrist is about 18cm and with the ultra. Is gets pretty close to a fully overlapping. You’d probably be fine to still fit the m/l but if the band starts to overlap then it just look weird.

You should try the latest Synchro top grain leather band. A third of the price of Apple and the quality is top notch.

I’m crazy about the leather magnet band too… just got mine.. mines dark blue on a blue aluminum watch

Nice combo, yeah I want to collect them all. but have to wait and find them on sale to do that.

Not that I need much convincing, but definitely took the plunge and got this very band as my 1st leather band, hopefully I won’t get a defective one.

Awesome! Congrats. I’m just you’ll be fine. The pull test is the easiest way to know just put the band in your wrist and try pulling from the watch. If it come off easily then I would return and maybe go with the larger size.

Not sure my wrist size. I wear the Size 8 with the Solo Band and it just lose enough o be comfortable

When in doubt I would go M/L more magnets that are connected the more secure it will be.

I was a bit worried that the small band was going to be a bit too small and would make the band too easy to pull off...but nope, I absolutely love this band and it takes a lot of force to rip it off.

I wouldn’t leather is not waterproof.

You should take the part of the strap that was on the bottom and reverse it so that it's on the top. In one orientation, the magnetism is weak and the opposite is very strong. It may simply have been backwards.

Yeah that wasn’t the issue with the first one. I could tell one side was stronger than the other but even the stronger side wasn’t strong enough.

Hey, I didn't see this follow-up when I commented yesterday on your original post. We're on the same page after all. The bigger size has plenty of grip. I'm using the new 45mm Midnight leather loop. It's gorgeous and looks/fits great. Thanks for the video.

White band has gotten dirty in spots but the band is holding up great and has yet to fall off and I wear it a lot.

Hello! Im curious how the Chalk color has held up for u. Im contemplating between the chalk or the saddle brown. Had it changed much in color? Or is it easy to clean and get white again? Also Thank you for the update. Your initial video definitely made me a little scared about going with leather. I think it’s important to note that getting the right size for your wrist is important. Having more magnets touching is going to make it stronger as well :) So it might jot have been defective, just the wrong size for u. Anyways, Thank you in advance!

It’s held up really well I got some dirt on it while pulling weeds (impromptu event or I would have been wearing a different band), but wiped right off.

Yep first one I got was not good. I debate on taking it down, but leave it up since I mention it in this one and it’s all about the process.

I believe my small band was defective. I have a friend that uses the smaller band but wears a larger solo loop than me. I’m just sticking with larger ones cause I feel better.

Hard call. There are still some days if I know I am going to be more active or moving things that I honestly would wear either. I’ve had the leather loop fall off before. When carrying my son and nearly fall off many more times. Just cause the magnets aren’t stronger then a normal clasps. I still feel like the Loop has a better chance of not falling fully off in most circumstances.

Haha. I love Apple and sadly even they aren’t immune to defective products like the first leather link I got was. After so much back a forth some on my side and many on the other. I had to give it another shot. Cause I really did grow to like the look of it. And the chalk white is 😍

The first band was defective. And some may still be defective so I left the first video up and point to the new video at the end so people can get the full story since I talk about my experience of the first band. The second band is way stronger. And my son can’t rip it off my wrist. Now and adult probably still could but they will have to get a really good grip to do so. That being said. I still wouldn’t wear this band if I know I was going to be in a high theft area with large crowds.
