Ok wait, let me get this straight. The dude is begging his wife, who he knows is pregnant, to visit his parents house, that she is obviously not wanting to do, so he can drink with his dad and stay the night, but he doesn't want his wife to drive at night 'cause it will be too dangerous. And yet he's ignoring how terrified his wife is..... How stupid is he? No seriously, is he brain damaged or something?

Sophia was lucky. MIL punched her in the stomach. Any lower could have caused a miscarriage since it was an early pregnancy. Don't blame the family for disowning the MIL for being such a cruel abusive person.

You should ALWAYS tell your spouse what your inlaws say to you. How can they understand if you keep quiet? Stop keeping crsp like that a secret. It about the same as right out lying. She is a jealous, manipulative and deceitful person. Block them from texting you immediately. Such an arrogant narcissist.

Exactly. These stories are always written where the daughter in law just cowers and takes so much abuse. Like damn does anyone have a backbone in these stories? Is everyone daughter in law a pushover? How do you expect the abuse to stop if you never hold the abuser accountable? Just taking it and cowering down only emboldens the abuser because you showing them that they can continue to get away with it

Whether Mia was pregnant or not, it doesn't justify you punching her in the stomach just for using the damn bathroom, Sophia! Like seriously, what human being with even half of a functioning brain would ever think that that's a reasonable response to anything? If a guest used the bathroom in my house, my only response would be to politely ask that they tidy up after themselves when they're done and to please not move around anything. I sure as Hell wouldn't punch them in the freaking stomach for the "crime" of taking a shower in my bathroom! I seriously don't know what is the matter with some people!

I don't understand why she's keeping MIL bullying & harassment a secret?.. I would've showed Tom all the disgusting texts his mother was bombarding me with.. but honestly, when she told tom his mom didn’t like her and she didn’t want to go.. he should've respected that & went by himself.. I don't see why she should be forced to be around his horrible mother... I'm further more baffled as to why she's paying the loan off MIL house, while being treated Iike shyt?..absolutely nobody would do this.. why would they?.. MIL or not... I'd see her homeless and destitute 1st before I pay a penny for her house ...and wouldn't lose a second of sleep over it.. she punch me, she would've gotten punched back.. we would've just been tearing that house up.. we'd be fighting like two ratchets off the street..

People really need to stop throwing around the word "doormat" like an insult. Also, society in Japan is still coming to terms that it's okay to stand up to abusers and defend yourselves vociferously from them. They haven't even had democracy for a century, yet - just starting after WW2. (Although, interestingly enough, they are already ahead of the US in the healthcare department.)

I'm so thankful that I'm one of the lucky ones when it comes to MIL'S and my husband's other family members I know of only one that didn't care for me all of the others treated me like family, Even though that one person didn't go out of their way to be mean or rude I really didn't care about their feelings, I would always speak when I saw them and go on about my business my husband was aware of it and didn't care for that person either once he said forget them well not exactly like that that person didn't interfere in our marriage and we didn't visit each other only saw each other at family gatherings if they came

They were announcing the pregnancy and a few months later the baby was born? She should have been showing enough for his family to notice or that was a premature baby cause when I had mine it took a little over 9 months, not a few

MIL clearly doesn't want her there yet she insist on going, on making friends with her. 'What do you expect me to do? she ask, a normal person would stay home and block the MIL. Show your hubby the messages and that's it. And if Tom actually goes without his wife, then he's as much a problem as the MIL. Cutoff the cancer or hide like a coward.

B****, you can’t always have what you want. OP, you need to learn honesty is the best policy. You need to phrase everything in a very passive aggressive way. If someone tells you not to say anything, you must almost immediately be honest with whoever they tell you to lie to.

Afterword: Sophia lost her cool eventually and become a complete homeless psycho, and began to follow her family's footsteps, events, using costumes and wigs she stole from thrift shops. She took it up a notch when she found out they were going on a family vacation abroad and used the money she stole from a purloined wallet. But the family secretly knew of her whereabouts thanks to a cop friend and Sophia was arrested at the airport as they were going through security that very day. Sophia, smelly, drunk and clearly under the influence, caused a huge hysterical scene after being told by the check in agent that she was blacklisted from flying, she kept screaming and crying, "I just woowwnnna bee wim mmmyy famiillllyyyyyyyy!!!" While being held down and tasered over and over. The whole family turned their backs on her as she was cuffed away out of the airport and into a waiting cruiser. The civil court judge slammed the gavel after the family's angry testimonial on zoom overseas and the final verdict besides punitive emotional damages from Sophie's relentless stalking and charges of emotional abuse by the DIL , was also a lifetime restraining order from Sophia EVER making ANY contact with any of her family ever again, that a perimeter alarm would be attached to her body at all times 24/7 and that she would be blacklisted from EVER leaving town, go on dating sites or make any unauthorized conversations with ANYONE without officers at either side of her, and that her internet searches and any activity such as a grocery shopping would be under high surveillance by plainclothes officers, her monetary allowance restricted daily to a miniscule minimal. The last time the public, including Sophia's ex-family and ex-husband and ex-lovers heard of her, she shown on social media being cuffed to a wheelchair out of the courtroom, screaming for God to help her as the everyone else stood and clapped for her. Sophia now lives in a special housing unit with violent convicts, 10 inch × 10 inch cubicle where neighbors steal her phone and sometimes her clothes. It has been 59 years since and now Sophie, now a very old frail lady, spends her days cries about her miserable life 24/7, sometimes crying and laughing while she wrotes words all over her cubicle walls, engaging with two-way conversations with herself, pretending she was a hot pretty young thing with another man and making up R-rated dialogues infront of the mirror or fantasizing about the wonderful life she had in the shower, while hoping to see her grandchildren again in her mind during her final days..
