The consistency of this man is above the chart. Never have I ever seen anyone who’s still producing quality content in the same level of tone that this guy produced since the beginning of his career. This iPhone has got to be one of the shittiest smartphones EVER. -The new design absolutely SUCKS ass. -The new processor is only MARGINALLY better than the A7 processor. -The screen resolution is just plain PATHETIC. Did you android fans hear that? It only has a dual core processor with 1GB of ram, but performs like a quad core with 3 gigs of ram. When it comes to Apple, specs don't matter, because they optimize the shit out of their hardware and software. I only bring this up because I always see comments laughing at the specs of the iPhone, when in reality, better specs doesn't mean a better phone.

If you guys are wondering why this video is general and not as in-depth as his other reviews, it's because it's iPhone. He's making this video for Apple people. They don't know anything about technology. They just need to hear that it's an okay device. Although Marq disappointed me a little. I can't believe he stated that optimization is why the weak CPU runs iPhones so well. iPhones run so well on a weak processor because they don't do nearly as much as other phones. iOS is very primitive and locked down. No multitasking. No widgets. Apple had to put a motion chip in the phone because the dual core processor isn't capable enough on its own. It's not optimization. It is indeed a weak processor. The CPU is capable of a lag-free experience, but if that experience is basic and simplistic, it's nothing to brag about. Giving me no lag just scrolling through apps is expected. Giving me no lag when I scroll by just looking or waving my hand, no lag when I run two apps plus 5 mini Windows with pop up video all simultaneously, no lag when you convert my chicken scratch to legible handwriting, no lag when I use motion gestures! that's an accomplishment. The gimmick debate is one for another day, but the technology is still incredible in and of itself and getting that to run smoothly is entirely different from getting gridded icons to run smoothly.

All you've described in your last paragraph is more or less like a Galaxy phone? Well..they may have more raw power but I hope you know that among most big flagships, Galaxy phones are not nearly as smooth. :P if I was doing everything you described on a Galaxy S5, it would likely be lagging. Not a lot, but it would certainly lag on occasion. My friend, knowing how to read a spec sheet and comparing clock numbers is not knowing tech. I'm no expert myself, but the iPhone does not have "simple software". The experience is simplistic, that's all. That's a whole different statement right there. And yes, the iPhone does have awesome optimization with all its components. Look at the overall battery of this and past iPhones. The battery size is often small indeed, and the full experience is quite lacking. But, for instance, how do you think iPhones get that amazing standby time? I have an iPod Touch, a pretty outdated device(the worst Apple hardware accepted for iOS 8), and the battery on standby is worlds better than my Nexus 5. That's because like Marques says on the videos where he talks about Apple, Apple controls the whole process, that's why it's like that and that's why iPhones don't need high clock numbers to work well.

"Ios is primitive".... silly boy... you, my friend, are obviously not a programmer and have no clue what you are talking about. And yes it is "optimization" (among other things), you can't even launch an app for ios if it didn't meet the standards of cpu usage etc. ides for making ios apps monitor everything you do, while on android you can do whatever the fuck you want, which is not because it's better but because of huge variety of phones so you can't accomplish control. Also every app works better on iphone, even those really advanced, just check games and their framerate (like Amazing spiderman 2 for example which is one of the hardest on processor), even iphone 5s runs better than lets say Galaxy S5 (or any other flagship android), and no it's not cos of resolution: ipad air has the same cpu and runs higher than 1080p and it is still smoother than on lower resolution android with 2.5 ghz quad processor. Chip in this phone is superior to your sweet loving Snapdragon 801 for example, but I guess you are one of those kids that just read higher number before ghz and number of cores, so by that logic quad 2.4 is better than 1.4 dual, but it's not. Ram is managed a lot better than on androids due to better running apps and few other details, so you are more likely to feel the lack of ram with 3 gb android than on 1 gb iphone, I hope you understand that. And no not everything runs smoother because of lower resolution, as I said, ipad air has 2048 x 1536 and older processor than iphone 6 and it still runs every single thing better than lower 1080p of android. And what is that more advanced thing that android does and because of what you consider iphone as weak and primitive? Because of widgets? I wont comment on multitasking, I hope you understand by now what nonsense you are telling. Google fanboy kids are becoming worse than Apple fans ever been.

I'll start this off by admitting that I am Android bias, but I am not a mindless sheep so I watch videos about and keep up with what's going on with Apple as well. I think one of the biggest things that annoy me about people who defend iphones is that they are ill-informed with the current Android phones and software. I think many people still think of 2010 Androids which I admit was pretty...clunky both hardware and software-wise. I guess one of the things I can admit Apple has done better is marketing because each upgrade to either the ios or iphone is so hyped that everyone knows about it while so many people don't know about the awesomeness that is Android currently. Anyways, I enjoyed this video regardless, but I look forward to your review of the Note 4. I'm pre-ordering mine this week to upgrade from my Galaxy S4 (:

I honestly don't care if someone owns and loves iPhone, but to say it is better than any flagship Android phone is just ridiculous. Even a year old Nexus 5 is proven to be faster, even with animations turned off (for those who say iPhone's animations are slow).

I think you kept the gloves on in this video, Marques, and I for one am dissapointed. Clearly you're not analyzing this as harshly as you analyze many Android phones... and that's the entire reason I watch your videos. This comment you make at the end: "Solid phone, Apple"... Is it really when considering the competition, or are you comparing this purely to the past renditions of the same product? 1) What about the sub-par resolution the new iPhones feature? The iPhone 6 has a 720p resolution... that is a big deal considering everyone loves HD media. And on the 6 plus, we see 1080p, but the competition for that category of phone (phablet) is well into QHD now with the competition. 2) How about the NFC? Apple has implemented this technology, but you can't beam photos and videos like you can on Android. This is another huge feature that's lacking here. 3) The camera is not significant in any way, you're buying into Apple's hype here. It's not bad, but it's also not the best by any overall standard measuring the overall quality of images produced. (background: Brooks photo graduate) There are quite a few more things to cover, but these are the major three that slapped me right across the face when I learned about them, or read the nonsensical hype.

Isn't the whole premise of Android beam so that you can use NFC to initiate a WiFi direct connection? Considering iOS isn't going to implement the Android Beam protocol anyway, why use NFC to initiate a transfer when AirDrop does it without phone contact?

Who said you can't consume HD media? 750p is above 720p, but most importantly, the density has reached a level at that point which will deliver an experience beyond the definition we have set regarding "HD". What really matters is pixel density and PPI and 326 is well above a level where you will get a great experience. There are subpar 1080p displays out there with terrible color reproduction, viewing angles and those that use a pentile matrix. Will you look past that simply because you're stuck on a resolution? There are several factors that make a good display and both Anandtech and DisplayMate said the iPhone 6 has the best LCD display to date and it's also considered to be one of the best displays out there on the market. 2. I'm not going to adress this given the simple fact that Apple has their own proprietary standard. It's a price you pay for their ecosystem. 3. You say the camera is hardly improved based on the fact that you are a Brooks photo graduate? Really? Not to dismiss your knowledge, but how about backing your reasons up with legitimate sources and well-known/respected publications? The camera is considered to be one of the best on the market, if not the best if you take in all aspects (Lumia 1020 is fantastic, but with slow autofocus and picture taking).

“It shouldn’t bend in your pocket” this definitely cane before the bending issues popped up.

I must be the only one who thinks the iPhone 6 is slightly uglier than the 5s :( It still looks really nice, but those painted lines on the back simply don't look good.

Alan Wang Enjoy what "pretty phone"? I'm not a manufacture of phones, I couldn't just go make one without the bands. I've had an HTC One and the bands weren't as bad as on the iPhone 6. I currently have a Nexus 5 and it's a different design with no visible bands. I'm not saying the bands aren't needed, I'm just saying that they're ugly.

iPhones, and Apple in general, cause people to act very very weird. I'm not talking about the Apple fanboys and those who wait in line for hours on end to buy an iPhone, I'm actually talking about those who have an obsessive hatred of Apple. I have an HTC, I prefer it. The iPhone is good, too, but I'll stick to what I prefer and get on with my life. Whereas you have these people who get the red mist whenever they see Apple mentioned and they have to leap in to announce to everyone that they personally do not like Apple, and even go as far as flinging insults at those who DO like Apple products. This is very weird, rabid, frenzied behaviour and it is coming from those of you who have an irrational hatred of Apple, not those Apple fanboys you deride. Get a grip and live and let live. You're throwing abuse at people due to their choice of mobile phone. It is utterly pathetic behaviour .

I own Apple stuff (iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air) and a bunch of Android stuff including the latest Shield Tablet - I prefer iOS greatly to Android. But I don't hate Android or I wouldn't own 6 Android devices. The fanboys are just obnoxious no matter who they're "rooting" for.

The quality of MKBHD videos are just beautiful.

Watching on my iPhone 12 Pro Max on ios 16 just reminiscing on one of my favorite iPhones. its crazy how far iPhones have come from the 6 and ios 8

Yes. I like I have a 6 64gb in gold and I like it better than the 5s was in gold. It's more of a champaign color and sometimes even has a pink-ish tint on the 6.

I LOVED this phone so much. I had an iPhone 4s before this phone and I remember making the switch to the 6 plus felt like night and day.

Got a free 6 from my uncle a few days ago and I can’t believe how much better my X is. Kinda want a 6S now though

No 3.5m jack doe. Gonna get the 13 soon but ill miss my 6s. If you notice these phones keep getting worse not better i remember when i upgraded to 6s from 5 the iphone 5 had a better sound chip it was louder and bassier. But its 2021 ill get used to whatever they throw at us.

They just hate to admit that iphones is more smooth running and better looking. Besides all the negative attention (bendgate, ios 8, and icloud hacking) apple is making improvements. I can see it. Pretty soon android users will have nothing to talk about when the apple is done playing "catch up". Androids are more advanced phones but it serves no purpose to me because we all have laptops and desktop computers. Why do we need a phone to operate like a computer.
