Smartthings find on Samsung actually does search for unknown tags near you. Click on Samsung find, click on the three dots in the top right corner, go to settings and you'll see search for unknown tags near you

Really doesn't add any functionality. Everyone has their phone with them so you would just use your phone instead of a button.

Thank you for providing this comparison! When the Galaxy SmartTags came out, there wasn't a great response in the tech community and if so, they said "oh, wait for Apple's AirTags". Then, when Apple's AirTags came out, bug hype of a lot of tech KZreadrs and no comparison with or even mentioning of the SmartTags. For me personally I prefer the SmartTags just because I'm more into the Samsung Universe aka Galaxy.

I think Google just released an Android update to detect rogue trackers automatically, so no separate app needed now.

I've had a couple of generations of tile. One without a relatable battery and one with. I definitely felt the one without just killed the tag at the one year mark. The one with took me two battery changes in 3 months after the one year mark and I believe I had to change it once before the year but I truly don't remember. I now have the Galaxy tag and I'm not as sold on it as you seem to be in this video. Besides the extra features I almost feel the tile worked better.

Mhhhmmm.. question If you get two Tile Trackers . And out both of them on a car for example . Will the two trackers send the location between each other ? So that you can constantly track where your object is?

I have a smart tag and I can scan for rouge tags in my settings . Just a heads up foe your video

i use the Smartthings app on my iphone.. not sure if it would then world with the samsung airtags.. can you do a test on your iphone?

How do you set that up?

Does the Samsung Tag+ work with the Galaxy Watch 4?

I would really hope Samsung would open it to all Android. Off course the smartphone would need UWB to localize it exactly (like the Pixel 5, Samsung Note 20, ...). But the mesh network would get so much bigger just to be localized by walking-by-passengers.

And I think Google worked a solution with Apple to update unknown airtags tracking on all Android devices. So I guess it depends on how much Samsung and Google are willing to negotiate together on it.

I just ordered 2 Smarttags. I'm not going to get the plus. You have to be really close to it, for the plus additional finder to work.

Good video, but should have done more with range. Samsung was better distance wise, but how about distance through walls, or even just a measurement of just how much better that range is? 5 feet better or 30 feet?

As always it depends on the usage. I prefer airtag over smartag because its smaller, I don't need key holder and easy to remove the speaker to hide it in my various electric bicycles

I've had 4 2nd generation tiles for about 3 years now and I've only had to change a battery a couple of times. They seem to just fade into the background and just work the few times I need to use them!😎

Is the smart tag plus stalker proof? I heard about an issue with the apple airtag where they use to track people, but I wonder if the Samsung smart tag+ is a case as well since I didn't even heard on the news about the smart tag and the airtag being mostly talked about

No tags are stalker proof, unfortunately. It just became more well known and an ordeal when airtags came out but you could do that with Tile trackers, too

Great video and very informative! I just wanted to ask about samsung smart tag functionality for luggage when traveling. For ex I travel from UK to USA and say my luggage never left UK while I reached USA. Will the smart tag atleast show that my bag is in the UK? Thanks in advance.

Other KZreadrs just hold the device and talk about it but you give us a real-life example, that makes us believe which technology is better.

Update, I bought one of these Tile Pro for each of our bikes and one for the cat's collar when he goes outside. We track the cat all over the neighborhood, so it works very well for no monthly fee.

I was honestly so surprised as well. I thought they were going to have a super weak experience and network and that by going to a park I might notice that more than going downtown. Noooope!

Apple will add UWB or something similar and say they innovated. Then they'll make it bigger so that you have to buy the loops all over again

Hey Mate, one correction, I just got the smart tag just the regular version and there is option to check if there is smart tag near you without a phone connected to it. Basically same thing as apple has... that security feature.

Google released an Android update so you can natively be alerted to rogue airtags tracking you nearby now.

Hi . If two airtags pass next to each other do they update the location? Like for example if a parent gives a bicycle to a kid and that bicycle has an airtag . In case you lose an item with an airtag on it and that Item passes near that bicycle (even though the person on the bicycle might not have an iphone) . Will it update the location? Same thing for the Samsung tag.

In Brazil, Iphones (and other Apple products) have a VERY PROHIBITIVE cost. But Samsung here has a wide price range and is most popular brand. With that in mind, I think results on Find My Network and SmartThings can vary a lot depending on region/country.

Neither I got a Tile more options for other items that I have.

Ive been using TILE Pro and I dont like the UI. The range is grate but seems like they dont have a huge network as Apple and Samsung. In terms of tracking they do work when they work, but I notice if I have to rely on others TILE users I dont think there are many, I did some tests in park and I could not get a ping. Also I hate the fact TILE charges for history logs and in addition to that keep pushing extra plan from the $25 basic to the $99 trying to convince with insurance plans, I HATE THAT! So, I have about 10 of those stupit TILE tags that I gont on costco but I do recommend get either Apple or Samsung. I am moving away from Tile

So true, it really depends on what phone you use. Outside of the USA, in my country, Samsung is massive. But that is also my concern about Tile, as how do Tile devices get found. Hopefully not only from users who have actually installed the app (those numbers would be really low in my country).

I think Google are said to be working on an UWB tracker.

Smart tag also let's you know if you have a rogue tag on you. Samsung is king. We are on our 2nd gen. PIONEERS!

Samsung SmartTag Plus does have unknown tag alert and detection.

I haven’t done a direct comparison like this but I have mentioned it quite a bit in other videos. They’re surprisingly largely the same and have an extremely robust network as well. A LOT of people use Tiles.

Don't forget in real world use, apple have a much smaller market share, and don't forget apples cash cow of having to buy a accessory holder to attach it, ie apple 🍎 tax.

If you have a Samsung, aren’t planning to switch to any other brand of phone, and your tile has stopped working, then yes. Otherwise, keep the tile if you want the flexibility.

Watched 2 other test, out of the US, in Australia amd UK. Samsung tags worked much better. Tile was kind of useless.

I think the SmartTag will be a lot better in europe due to the popularity of Samsung . In America it's the opposite , because most people have Iphones.

The network of both Samsung and Apple devices are important to take into account in North America or Europe (or pretty much anywhere other than North America), since in NA Apple devices massively outnumber the Samsung devices and vice versa in other none NA countries.

Google might perhaps let Android users know, but I'm not sure. A recent Android update will now tell you if a rogue Apple airtags aee tracking you on a Android phone, so maybe that includes Samsung trackers?

Smart Tags are only $29 and Samsung says the battery lasts a year. Where did you get your price from and the battery life when Samsung clearly started what both are?

First off iits a lie about Apple having anti stalking features. I tested out my air tag by stalking myself and got no alert whatsoever on my iPad that an air tag was following me around. I tried it a second time having my wife try to track me and still got no alert that I was being followed.

Apple's implementation of preventing tracking abuse is not 100% but at least they do have some kind of something I guess.

I have a tile and an airtag. Apple is an ahole for only showing the tag on the find my app. I can't log into find my on the website an locate any of the accessories I have paired with it. I would need to tether my iPad to my android phone if I wanted to get a rough location of a lost item when outside. I don't understand how they're allowed to lock it that much without repercussions.
