I got the Samsung Smart Tags and placed one inside my wife's car to test it. We live in a big North American city. She went out and I didn't know where. Once I engaged the tracking I started to get an unreal amount of hits "by other Galaxy devices". She drove 20 miles from our house. I got 11 "hits", one hit every 2 miles, then I got 4 more "hits" once she parked at a mall. The map even showed me the name of the mall. What is interesting is that the Smart Tag got picked up by other Samsung smartphones as she was driving 65 MPH on the highway. So those smartphones must have been from cars that she passed along the way or cars coming the opposite way. That's mind-boggling. One nice feature about the Smart Tag is that when the target has stopped moving, the app tells you from what time to what time the target was parked or stopped.

More Features: The App also has a "historygram", that shows you where the vehicle has been in the last 24 hrs. I placed one Smartag in my company's truck fleet on February 2022, in the undercarriage, not shielded from the elements, in below zero temps and it's still working now in September 2022. So the battery on this thing lasts at least 7 months, more if you place the Smartag inside the car where it's warm.

Dope video man. I just bought a sprinter camper van, I work over seas and overall just trynna find a place to keep this baby while I'm gone. The smart tags are definitely a cool and great option for ease of mind to know my home is safe while I'm away. Well done! Step by step comparison with details, offering Objective conclusions, not just personal 'feelings'. The 'Air Tag' sounds great; however; where I live, the Cell Service STINKS!!! Sometimes a signal, other times nothing. Therefore, I am not able to depend on other phones reporting the location of the individual tracker. I needed to use the Bluetooth capabilities to locate locally. I did find a KZread video: 'AirTag Distance Test - vs. Tile Pro & Chipolo One' that actually measured the Open Field operating distances of each Bluetooth tag (he did not discuss the detailed attributes of each as you have done).

about 1 year with the airtag

I purchased the tile pro to track my travel trailer if it would get stolen. I don’t have a Samsung device or Apple phone so the Tile was the only option. As an experiment I put it in my wife’s car as she went off to do some errands. I was pleasantly surprised when it located the tile and her car miles away. The app. will tell you how many members are in your area, and there were 2300 in the area at the time. It’s an inexpensive way to keep tabs on my trailer.

It works with all samsung devices. But the precision tracking feature only works with s20 series and above.

Remember, if you have an iPhone you would purchase AirTag or Tile. If you have a Samsung phone purchase SmartTag or Tile.

I have the tiles used them in my luggage. Found one of my bags in Ireland 🇮🇪. Also tile and skull candy are compatible so skull candy users also help find tiles. I'm leaning towards Samsung.

First of all.Great job! Do you have a teleprompter device? How do you remember so much material in one unedited take? I worked in broadcasting for over 40 years and I amazed at the delivery! Well your review is wonderful but now I have a lot to take into consideration. One thing important to us is a tracker for out pet. Obviously needs a high level waterproofing rating and shock proofing. Not sure any of these are a good choice unless you have a suggestion. Thanks again for your expertise and knowledge.

It's very situational you'll have a very high chance of finding your device if it's an Apple (airtag or chipolo Spot) or Samsung (smarttag, I would avoid using the smarttag+ the battery doesn't last very long and it randomly reboot playing the battery inserted sound) With other tags companies they use) don't use Samsung or Apple network so you have a very close it of recovering your object (well basically tell you where you last left it/went out of range) Recommend using Panasonic cr2032 batteries the factory Panasonic supplied battery with the airtag lasted a year and 6 months before low battery warning and finally stopped responding after another 3 months (apple uses a pull tab to connect the battery so battery is full out of the box), do not use Duracell cr2032 in an airtag as the bitter taste on the battery and design flaw of the airtag prevents connection the Samsung one lasted about a year and 3 months but they had my own installed duracell battery's used as, testing with Panasonic now (the factory ones lasted less then 6-9 months because smarttag does not use a pull tab so battery has been used and brand of battery never heard of before)

I agree, I had two bikes in storage, both with Tiles attached and after I visited storage and had my phone on me the app reported the last contact was over a month ago .. Hmmm. I am now using Air Tags and though they need a short time to update I am pleased with the response.

Tile has no GPS, it is all via Bluetooth. It uses other devices like phones with the app to locate them on a map.

Tile will report when the battery is low, I assume the others do as well.

Does the Galaxy SmartTag phone automatically look for the bluetooth smarttag or do they have to sign up to smarttag before that option starts? Im just thinking people will prob never use smart tags so they would prob never go on the app unless its default in the phone?

Hello answer my question. If the thief also uses these divices then won't he know that he is being followed be device that we installed in our vehicles/ properties etc. You said we will know who is following us bybthis device. Thief can use this feature in their advantage

About the Samsung SmartTag, How long does the battery last? Can we change the battery ourself or only Samsung can change the battery?
