As a Brit, I was amazed you chanced upon a memorial to Audie Murphy. I know you, as a family admire those who have flourished despite their upbringing. His story is incredible, as others have pointed out. Laid to rest in Arlington I believe. A real American hero and icon.

Thank you for today’s video! Audie Murphy was a pretty big deal (pronounced Aw-dee). Still the most decorated American veteran (and a movie star too, after he returned from WWII).

Sunshine I love your attitude about people don’t ever lose that wonder. Too many people are always complaining about crappy people . I love how you focus on the positive, it’s so much better for the soul.❤❤❤❤

"Cat Daddy" would have been an awesome trail name. Just sayin. BTW, you're gonna hate the descent into Port Clinton, PA. It's downright dangerous.

I have been watching the vlogs of you guys hiking the Camino De Santiago, and I am enjoying seeing what 10 year old Largo was like! Also, I love that Avalon had purple hair! What a sweet, loving family! I can’t get enough of it!🙂❤️

Watch the movie “To Hell and Back”. It’s the Audie Murphy story AND he is the actor. He also starred in a lot of western movies.

Are trailside blueberries considered "trail magic" by definition? The trail provides, so I think they can be! What a delicious surprise!

Congratulations on hitting 700 miles!!🎉. We were also very surprised at that Dragon’s Tooth descent since there’s nothing like that in the previous 700 miles. I’m so thankful your falls weren’t serious. Many people have hike ending falls on that descent, it’s that intense, as you well know. Enjoy McAfee Knob and Tinker Cliffs tomorrow, those were definitely highlights for us!! Now I need some of that 🧀 CHEESE ‼️

Great find with the Blueberries...doesn't get more organic than that. Good you left some...not only for others...but the Bears feed on them too. I don't think Audie Murphy is actually buried there...it is more a Memorial Marker due to the fact that the plane he was in crashed nearby. Much like a spot I visited in Tennessee, where Country & Western music singer Patsy Cline's plane crashed..also killed in that crash were "Cowboy Copas" and Hawkshaw Hawkins.

My son and I did dragons tooth 2 years ago in the rain absolutely no views and the down climb was insane on wet rocks. We started near the Audie Murphy monument and finished at 624. First day of my 14 day section hike. Memories and I got to see what we missed in the way of views.

That cheese sounds great, but really the only cheese nation comparable to France is Italy. Over here on the Camino there have been a LOT of cherry plums. Super tasty !!
