Appalachian Characters - Josh Griggs

Appalachia is full of unique colorful characters. In this video I'm sharing an interview I did with one of those individuals: family friend Josh Griggs.
Josh is one of those people who are so funny that your face hurts from laughing after you spend time with them. He has an amazing inspiring life story and if you stick around to the very end you can enjoy some of his humor.

Once he realizes that he is a natural born writer he’s gonna write the great American novel.

Oh My Goodness! Mr. Griggs is a teacher, among other things at my youngest son's school. His wife was my second youngest son's guidance counselor. Mr. Griggs is an amazing man. We are so blessed to have him at our school and involved in education. He is an old soul with tons of wisdom to share with the kids or anyone who is lucky enough to have him their lives. I had no idea about this interview and just happened to come across it. So, enjoyable to watch this video not to mention educational.

You might want to pop a note to the library of congress, make them aware of these interviews.

I just happened to stumble on this interview. What an incredible testimony. So many similarities and parallels to my own life, being marginalized, the IQ, college, working with special needs etc. Amazing story. I’m not even completely done listening and I had to get on here and comment. I just realized it’s three years old. God bless Mr Griggs.

This young man is a shining example of God's provision, sense of humor, and a snippet of what's still RIGHT in this world! I was so disappointed when the video ended!♥️ 👏🏼 ⭐

The man's a genius! And they stuck him in special ed. You know the average person usually can't recognize genius because they can't think at a higher level. So really intelligent people get branded as a aberration. But, it doesn't take a genius to know a genius, you just have to admit to yourself that there are folks who can think at a higher level than you.

So very interesting. I think this would be good viewing for many high School children who need to know how this young man overcame obstacles to achieve his goals. Many young people want instant gratification, but sometimes the road forward is full of obstacles. Thank you Josh Griggs!

I enjoyed Josh. I also wanted to be a history teacher but became a medical transcriber. I also had problems in school. I am blind and had adjustment difficulties. I was told by some teachers I would not amount to much. Jesus saved me when I was nine years of age. He is my guide and stay and He is taking care of me.
