Running out of content. No new news.

I don't mind the new Automatons tbh. Them being more clearly robots instead of just living metal statues fits since Talos exists in Greek Mythology too. For reference, he's a massive automaton made of Bronze and is literally powered by God Blood. It would be pretty cool if they confirm that, instead of God Blood, it was Titan Blood giving these automatons life

You know quite a bit. Yea, they were controlled by Titan blood, running through them. Hence they posed as enemy in campaign. New automatons look great. Machine like, just as they should

Wadjets probably got the biggest glow-up out of every myth unit. They got buffed, too, apparently they can fly now.

The only one out of these I don't vibe with is the Nemean Lion. It somehow feels more basic than the original 💀

@@aldrichfurtal2596 its a mythical lion with a fearsome roar. Its mane has a color pattern but in retold, they removed the design and painted it plane.

Yea i agree, maybe the upgrades might change it? I know the Sphinx will change for each upgrade, so will others.

Its interesting to see that they've changed the minotaur from human body to now animalistic style, I like the change either way but I wonder why. :D

@@marjiman_rts I think you misunderstood my comment.. haha. Well it’s half human, half bull, the body of a Minotaur is human not animal. But this one is more animal like (fur) than human (furless) Although in Greek myth I think it doesn’t state which part is more human but the wiki of a Minotaur says the body and only the tail/head is bull, like I mentioned above. Which is why the old model has human feet and body, while this new model doesn’t really have human like parts at all...

It's a little funny, you can tell which monsters the art team liked best from the original, as some are 1 to 1 with the original design-wise.

They do lack in flames as compared to old ones but, they got a better structure.

It could be based on upgrades? Maybe it starts out as the original (left side) and each upgrade changes the look, go from fire to more molten.

I still think they should name Medusa just gorgon and make a hero version named Medusa

Great stuff man! If you need more AoM Retold related content, I just released a new Mod called "Norse Retold" on Steam. It introduces the new Norse Building (Viking Hall), Spearman (Bondi) and the new Hero (Jomsviking) from the Retold footage we have to Aom EE ;)

I really liked the hall design and unit designs looked decent too. I will upload a short and possibly play them in a campaign. Good work mate

@@marjiman_rts much appreciated! Sadly the new stuff wont be available in campaign, u can use the mod in Random maps tho. I plan on adding a bit more to the mod soon and who knows, I might make a short scenario where you need to use the new stuff :)

some of them only. Colossus looks bigger, minotaur etc. Zoom level also makes difference in appearance

? New mummy is more badass and buff looking which makes it at least look a lot stronger and more like a myth age unit which in my opinion wasn’t the case before. Avenger is basically the same just a glow up don’t know what you can complain here objectively speaking lol

@@klavicus2276 I prefer the mummy loking thinner and taller. And the new avenger looks more funny, I prefer the old with darker colours. And there is not an objective view of this since they are desings and you can like them as they are or not. Im not saying that they are ugly. But I prefer them like before.

I think that minotaur and promethean are unproportionally large compared to human units. It looks really strange to me that minotaur is twice as high as human. I can't imagine how this tall new version is performing its special attack.

minotaur were bigger than humans. its accurate. but promethean looks quite a bit taller. Don't know about lore accuracy though.

​@@marjiman_rts I know they were bigger, that's ok. I just think they are too big here. I would expect something like 30% bigger than human. After all, a Minotaur is described as a beast with a human body and bull's head, born to a human mother. But here it seems they are twice as high. As for Prometheans, I think they are completely made up unit, but inspired by myth of Prometheus creating first humans from clay. In AoM Prometheans are supposed to be something like Prometheus' first attempt at creating humans, so I personally would expect roughly a similar size to humans.

Just better graphics isn't just better graphics. What's gameplay? Age of empires will be played the same way for coming 100 generations. I faced so many questions like these. Gameplay cannot change. Unless you make aom a third person shooter. So yes , new graphics. But new graphics carry new animations. Or let's just say, better animations. And that itself changes gameplay experience. Most of the time. People don't even know what decides a game experience. And most of the time graphics and animations do it. Because what's the difference in aoe 1 and aom? Graphics and animations ofcourse. Gameplay is pretty similar for both.

@marjiman_rts aoe1 and aom are different games. By gameplay, I mean scenarios, different and improved units, better AI. Basically, more. I think how in aoe, the more villies are in the tc or towers, the more arrows the tc or towers shoot.

its a pc game. But there are some apps that can run the game on android. but it would still not be easy to play at all. So i would recommend you, not to waste your time.
