This has always been my problem, when I don't know when to start shifting from economy booming to military grinding, and it's always left me with nothing but my scout and towers to defend me.

You're one of my favorite casters across all games, I noticed you didn't do it this time, probably because this was more of a guide video. but in my opinion taking questions from chat really distracts from the viewing experience. Just watching your vids I've heard you answer some of the same questions several times, saving that for between games improves the youtube upload quality for posterity. All of the greatest casters don't have time for questions in game because there are always observations to be made. Just my 2 cents, keep up the good work.

And I'm overjoyed that I'm one of your favorite casters across all games. :D I try to strike a balance there as I can imagine how that would be distracting. I don't always take questions for that reason. Maybe I should be more selective with the questions I answer. I'll definitely give that some thought for the future. See you around!

One of the rare cases where the game actually gives you what you want to showcase/talk about. Poor Assasin, really nice early game aggression but no support from the pocket :'(

There is just so much a pocket can do and he really did push in hard. I think it was still a good game for both teams overall

this game helped me and my friends I always played with (and who all watched it) a lot to further understand what we should and could do in teamgames. really loved it and try to be part in more of these games (and other streamers' games)

hi res, i was watching spirit of the laws organ gun video, and he was talking about how you can upgrade them, and the only upgrade for them is siege engineers, (because they are classified as siege units) but then showed that it only gives +1 range and not 20% bonus dmg to buildings, i was wondering if this was a bug, or something you guys just missed, or did you knowingly not give them 20% extra dmg vs buildings for balance reasons. with the recent Portuguese nerfs i was hoping to bring this to your attention and perhaps they could get a buff again, i find them to be very underwhelming and generic now that their bombard cannons are the same as everyone elses. they are still super weak early game (which is fine) but they hardly compare to other late games civs until the map has 0 wood, gold, and stone and you start going into fietorias in a 5 hour game

@Resonance22Channel what do you think would be the best boost to give to Magyars? for example one thing I would think they at least should do is make it so that they're cheaper scouts bonus is increased, liike 10% in Feudal, 15% in Castle, and 20% in Imperial. Or what would probably be even better is giving them an entirely new bonus

Oh, Awesome! Well, nothing's ever certain, but it would make a lot of sense, especially when the Berber's stable units are 15-20% cheaper all around, so I don't think it would be overpowered at all. :) When it comes to viable strategies, do you think it would make using light cav in Castle Age a good option? Or do you think that knights would still be the better choice pound-for-pound?

Yeah I would have been super frustrated if I were Assassin in this game. Very minimal help from teammates. Feels sad man...

In multiplayer, if you are new and your rating goes down, does that mean better players can see you are new and pick games with you just to smash you? Can other players see your ratings or is it just used to match you with people at your skill level?

I just started playing this online against real people and almost gives me a heart attack. Two games and two wins... but I know my defeat is coming. Other newbys spend too much time making their town look pretty and throwing up walls everywhere.

gonna steal this from twitch chat: You could say Troy lived up to his name, also, blue should have done more, he's the one i blame the defeat on, i know he is a beginner but still, you need to find someone to accuse for the loss .D

ok this is something that has bothered me for years, why is it that in so many RTS games it is common to not play on the fastest game speed setting? AoE is such a slow game even on fastest that response time should not be an issue at all, which can't think of a reason other then that. It just arbitrarily makes the game last like twice as long. I've been playing every RTS game on fastest since I started in 95 on Total Annihilation and into AoE 1, 2, and 3, on C&C games, and in Starcraft. Of SC literally forces you to play highest game speed. If someone could please just explain why people play on anything but fastest, that'd be great.

Im not a active member or proffessional but maybe it requires more thought? As in more stats and upgrade plus counters? Like a game of chess compared to checkers? Checkers is more clear

because if the game got even faster, then the gap between players would be much larger

@@aoisora1445 well Definitive edition, and the original, on multiplayer runs at 1.7 speed so fastest being 2.0 is only slightly faster. Faster speeds make micro slightly harder and can make keeping your builds on time a bit tougher too, but that's something you practice and get used to. We already have skill based match making so skill gaps really aren't a big deal, just play and practice more. Obviously, it won't be changed at this point because that 1.7 speed is so ingrained in players at this point, but playing any game on "normal" speed is just painful and should only be used for initial teaching of the game.
