Anycubic Photon Mono X 6K 3d resin printer [HONEST REVIEW]

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The Mono X 3d resin printer has been upgraded... there's now a 6K option to go alongside the existing 4K model. Anycubic were kind enough to send me a 6K to review and here I compare both versions, testing whether the upgrade is was worthwhile.
TYPO ERROR - At 1.32 I made a mistake 😜 labelling "Pro" where I should have said "6K". Sorry for any confusion 😁

Elegoo announced their Jupiter to be sent to KOLs, are you one of them?

  • @vogman

Well, I'm not sure I'm a KOL and I'm not sure Elegoo have forgiven me for the Mars 4K wobble incident yet ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/gqyNpMiQgMLZdM4.html ) . Regrettably I am compelled to tell the truth as I see it. If it's good, I'll say so. If it's bad, I'll say so. Now whilst I NEVER called the Mars 4K "bad" I was concerned that the Z arm wobbled. Many KZreadrs claimed it didn't happen or if it did, that it didn't effect the printing. Whilst I'd already said it didn't effect printing, my concern was the long-term implications. I guess if these others get Jupiters and I don't, then we'll answer both points... I'm not a KOL and I'm not forgiven 😂🤣😁😁😁😁

If you pop your build plate into the freezer for around 15 minutes prints just pop off. I wash them first and put the plate on a paper towel to avoid getting resin in my freezer. Saw the freezer tip online somewhere, it works amazingly well.

I really wish companies would stop putting _screen_ resolution nomenclature in printer model names like it actually means something, instead of _print_ resolution. The Mono X 6K prints at the same resolution as the Mono 4K, and the Mono X prints at the same resolution as _the original Photon._ (Nominally, like within a couple microns.)

another subject that worth to make a video about is choosing the right castable resin for jewelry ; maybe if you give a review for the best ranked NO 1 resin for this purpose might help a lot for those who are in this kind of work + showing the process (cleaning ; curing ; UV light...etc) in order to make the prints ready for silver or gold casting ; i can say this concerns me so much ; there are so many types of resins in the market and also many reviews about them ; and i feel i am lost with all this kind of uncertainty for how and what to choose for my work which is 3d prints for jewelry.......this is one subject right now ......the other subject is the printer it self ; i will post my concerns later on when it comes about choosing the best printer for our work (3d prints for jewelry )in order to have the best results that we want ; this is also a very important matter to all of us....thank you Vog.

A little patchiness of colour can often happen with prints, I know, but for me these were quite large. But the truth was they LOOKED worse than they were. The spray I used is Citadel Mechanicus Grey and I used just one thin coat. There has be NO OTHER sanding, filling, etc. Honesty is important to me so I declare everything I do so as not to confuse or misinform anyone 😁 So yes, the prints on the 6K are looking VERY smooth with very few layer lines that I can see. The print was unharmed, just blotchy, so discoloured I guess. Priming certainly sorted the issue. It's quite possible that mixing IPA and ethanol before cleaning would be harmless as, perhaps, if there was any discoloration, it would be uniform... I don't know. The important point is, it was a harmless result if priming and painting is the plan 😁

I'm sorry Stephen, I've no idea. I believe the plate is slightly bigger with the 6K, but I don't think that would effect the vat as there's very little difference. But I wouldn't like to say for sure.

Creates great prints but just shortly after 3 month the LED quite working. $250.00 to replace means I might just go the DLP route and store this one until prices for the LCD go down.
