My horse is in a completely new environment (even a new country). I examine the question of security (for him) very carefully. In fact, he hasn't taken a single step off-road on his own, which is completely fine. I have found that if I breathe consciously and maintain the connection to myself, he can orientate himself towards me. So he reacts to my own presence and I think that's what a leader horse does. The leader perceives himself and the environment and compares these observations with his own wisdom, which is then followed by a reaction (relaxation or tension).

I upset people when I tell them that their horse spooks because it doesn't trust them which is what I think Warwick is saying. If you're present and focused and connected to your horse they rarely spook. There's always the really unexpected but if you are truly united it's easy to restore their confidence and be on your way.

And what is about riding a horse....how can I be a person the horse can trust also from the saddle not only on the ground? As I have a horse where it´s okay, when we walk, but when I ride she is more anxious...Thank you and greeting from Germany
