Anxiety Fatigue & Depression Tiredness | WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON!?

How anxiety fatigue and depression tiredness keep us from true healing:
One of the biggest culprits is fighting (no energy left to strengthen our new beliefs). We fight our anxiety fatigue and we look to improve it at every turn. This only adds to the fatigue from anxiety and keeps our fight or flight system highly activated.
The understanding around how anxiety fatigue affects us mentally and physiologically, we are using the acronym MURKY, or the MURKY Effect.:
M - Magnification: Senses are magnified and response are exaggerated. A car backfires and we believe it's a shotgun for example, as our fatigue from anxiety and depression tiredness sensitizes us into believing things our much worse than what they really are.
U - We Undervalue our progress: We feel our progress over anxiety fatigue will be short lived so we revery back to a familiar state of victimhood.
R - Reversal: NAT’s (negative automatic thinking) take priority over creative thinking because we feel it will be too much work to create new perspectives. This is another trick played by the anxiety fatigue we feel.
K - We become Kirfuffled: Confusion strikes and we begin to self criticize ourselves. We run into different kinds of neurological difficulties and fatigue from anxiety pulls us into self criticism.
Y - Yearning: We yearn for the past which leads us back to victimhood. These are days we didn't suffer the exhaustion that fatigue from anxiety has placed upon us, which may lead us deeper into depression tiredness.
What do we do about it?
Do: 1) Get adequate rest
2) Regular mini vacations throughout the day
3) Add 100 to 500 mg of magnesium to your diet (can help to reduce fatigue and exhaustion)
4) Stop fighting your anxiety fatigue
5) pick up on the patterns that lead you towards exhaustion
6) Laugh at yourself more
7) Stop doom scrolling on social media
8) Be easy on yourself
9) Never give up on the real you
10) See the fatigue from anxiety as a chapter, not a life

It feels like so few people understand the cycle of health anxiety. I tried discussing my health anxiety & constant worry with a new therapist who recommended I see new specialists & tell them to run tests for rare diseases. The therapist was well- intended, but that was the last thing someone with health anxiety benefits from hearing 😣 I'm so thankful this channel exists. It helps me to understand, feel understood & not alone

No, when I walk down the street. I’m not even thinking about anything else going on around me. I’m thinking, oh no my legs feels weak, my lower back feels weak, I think I might faint. Where can I sit down if I feel like I can’t walk further? Who is going to see me faint? Is someone going to help me? I should turn around. I should sit down. That’s what I’m thinking when I walk down the street. If I even make it to my destination. I am RUSHING through whatever it is I am doing. With frozen stiff legs. Holding my stance and tight as possible to make sure I prevent myself from fainting. Then I rush outta there. And phew! That was close. Let’s go home asap, so I don’t faint. Let’s hope I don’t faint walking home, in the middle of the crosswalk.

Felt like ppl were watching and all I could do was pray and hurry outta there.. was shaking like a leaf!! Such torture! 😭🙏💗

Thank you Dennis! I have been going through this and was so hard on myself for being tired all the time. I was so mean to myself and realized I need more compassion for myself. I went back and watched a lot of your other videos related to this and was just trying to trust the process. I am still working on being kinder to myself and listening to my body when it is tired (most of all not getting mad when it is tired). I am seeing progress but this video really put words to everything I was going through and am starting to come out of. These are more wins I did not realize I was having. Thank you so much for sharing this video. You are not only helping me but I am teaching my kids your ways so they have a better start to good mental health and self love. Honestly, the first step in my healing journey was to understand where it came from and why. Childhood trauma because of generational trauma. My mother is an anxious mess. Once I separated myself from her identity, I was able to heal my inner child and move on from the past. Thanks to a lot of books, following Dennis and Dr Ramani. I haven't had symptoms for months at this point! It really is a journey of looking inward. ❤️

Yes, this video spoke to me as many of yours do. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about how I’m going to deal with anxiety. I welcome tiredness. It’s so much better than when your body is so wired, even when you are relaxing, it can’t join you.. but there are daily practices, and many you have mentioned here that absolutely do work. Breathing for sure. Music is good. Although I try to listen to nothing. Listen to silence and focus on breathing is great to tune everything out. I’ve also become mindful of footwear. Certain shoes can make my nerves jittery if I’m in them too long. Comfortable footwear is important when it comes to anxiety. I love what you say about habits that aren’t helping. And to focus on productive habits. I’m always hyper focusing on symptoms and wondering when I should make my next doctor appointment. Not good. Your videos are truly a Godsend. ❤️

I've been worrying about getting in trouble for no reason lately over trivial stuff. Kinda silly how this happens to us. Love the channel. Hope you're doing well. Learning new stuff every day helps. Btw do you have anything on GAD? On how to relax your muscles more from being tensed etc? Been getting annoying. :( We really need more therapists out there that specialize in this kinda stuff tbh. It would save lives and help allot of people. Too many counselors just tell you to go see a shrink and get on meds. Doesn't even help. :(

Sounds become louder, smell is magnified, Vision is kind of weird (for me it was night driving), sense of touch is heightened like It feels like the ground is shaking but it’s just your nerves in your body causing that feeling or if the ground is shaking like a big truck goes by that sensation is felt 10x more than the next person due to the hypersensitive senses.

Back in 2001 I got myself into a psychiatric clinic to try to deal with my depression. After a few weeks I was about to go home and to go on a great holiday for my 50th birthday. I was on a high and felt a bit guilty because others were still struggling. Once home I started packing for my holiday but then started to have doubts, worrying about panicking once on the plane or whilst in a foreign country. We contacted the clinic and went for a chat. I was offered medication to calm me and to ensure that I got to the destination with no problems. What did I do instead of taking them and going away?? I went back to the clinic for another three weeks and when I left the next time I was in nothing like the euphoric state of the first time! Apparently it was quite a common thing for people who exited the clinic on a high to return shortly afterwards to learn to face reality.

Exactly Exactly Exactly. I'm 52 and last year I got hit with extreme extreme burnout (tired of uphill battle, left Iran at 14, 7 years alone in Germany, coming to U.S. with no money, start a business, go bankrupt after 8 years, go to ucla, Law School, become aerospace mechanic...and all along always single and broke.) So I was done working 12 hours a day. I quit, upper management gave me 39k raise and a title to go back, went back for 2 weeks but my body said no...shocking, crying, walking like I'm 90 years old. So I quit my job totally. I'm a totally changed man and I feel the person in the video can relate. Many therapists and psychologists and doctors don't understand. IF MY DOCTOR TOLD ME TO TAKE 1 MONTH OFF 2 YEARS AGO I WOULD NEVER BE HERE. Instead these idiot doctors give you a pill and say go on...go on be a slave and broke and unhappy... But I changed things around, I started my own business and when I make $1000 a day I laugh in all their faces now. They are stupid. Thank you so much for your video.

I know I have to let it go remain as it is and it’ll pass. I’m not new to ocd. Just not this level of it. My ocd is always been triggered by sickness. (Prob growing up with a sick mom) and being afraid every time the phone rang in grade school, being called to the office. I’m just tired. we don't need less stress, less fighting, less acting, more avoidance, we need the opposite. 'Back in the day i had so much Energy, i was so much Engaged in a lot of Activities..' not in a lot of thinking, "healing", "accepting". Nobody can CHOOSE not to be a victim by some kind of contemplation or positive thinking, nobody can choose to be champion, one can only really be a champion and then feel like he's a champion. Human brain is not insane, it can't be deceived easily, if one is loosing in every single game there is no kind of thinking in the world that will make him be,feel, think(automatic unconsciouss thing) like champion. That reality distortion would be psychotic. When anxiety fatigued guy walks down the street and car alarm goes off.. he is immediately much more stressed and much more ALERT, AWAKE, PRESENT, CAPABLE. Shock from that alarm wouldn't be a very lovely feeling but it would be very Alive feeling, which fatigued one needs. That's just a point of high stress importance. When people often finally switch from fatigue, anxiety, depression to high energy, mania, capability, feeling alive, fight in the most positive terms? When they are stressed the most, when tragedy happens, when they divorce..only then brain has A REASON TO SWITCH ALL ENERGY SYSTEMS ON! When brain sees that existential fight is raging is when brain will turn ON not OFF. Basic survival mechanism. Accepting fatigue, weakness, avoiding more, trying to 'heal' by sitting at home, relaxing, not acting or sleeping more..is a dangerous way that often leads to more fatigue, weakness, sleepiness, depression. People rately get energized, stronger, more alive&capable by a lot of sitting&healing but often by exposing to life, to work, crowd, danger, a lot of activity. Chronic fatigue=brain in a lowest possible energy state, maximal energy conservation, but if exposed to war/highest stress, it would turn on in a minute. Unfortunately often times a lot of stress/activity etc is needed for brain to really activate, it won't activate a lot in conversation with cashier. A lot of stress is a lot pain, people want to avoid it and be comfortable, but highest energy in life comes with highest pain. Healing is nice, comfortable..but again if prolonged one should be very aware of comfort danger. People already suffer a lot but unfortunately the only solution is often to voluntarely suffer more to suffer less in the end. A lot of courage is needed for that, but rewards of feeling stronger&Alive are absolutely powerful. Cognitive therapy is a cozy illusion.. speaking as cbt therapist.. I say let go of victim identity by Doing everything it takes not to be a victim anymore, that would have 100% success rate for letting go of the victim mentality/mind/thoughts. Core thoughts are changing by behavioral change on a massive scale

I expect to be shot down for my comment but here goes. Tiredness is also a result of being lazy and bone idle. Sit down all the time doing nothing, your going to be tired. My wife and her friends are office workers, sedentary jobs sitting down in a stuffy warm environment for 6 hours and they come home exhausted. And that's because they haven't done anything. Me and my male mates all work in construction, all over 50, all fit, strong and healthy and we aren't tired all the time. I leave for work my wife's asleep, i come home from work she's asleep again. And i will also suggest it's mainly a female issue.

I was initially thiking i got a heart problem or a liver problem, cuz i feel lightheaded and tired alot of the times, but i also realised that when i m distracted or not anxious, i m feeling allright, all my symptoms seem to go away or at least about 90% of the intensity of the symptoms.. do u think all these symptoms can be related to anxiety/panic attacks?
