Avril! You had me worried. Until each of these restorations has passed your safety inspection, I just can't trust them. Glad to see you're still on the job.

I am fully expecting them to record a video using all the Vinyard equipment they've restored to actually make wine.

You did a great job. Your channel has the tools to recover very old and strange

I was beginning to get worried for a moment, but then, the inspector showed up!

Nice job! I seen one of these as a kid. My uncle used to make his own wine (he was Italian) and grew his own grapes and pressed them, and keep the wine/juice in wooden barrels in the cellar. He also had a garden and grew hot peppers he would pickle and keep jars and jars of peppers in the cellar too, next to the wine barrels.

I have a quick question, do people request you to do this and send in something or do you find things to restore?

Such beautiful, meticulous work. So satisfying to see all the pieces on the table all clean and shiny and ready to put back together. Love it.

Interesting project, makes one appreciate the work that went into making wine in olden days. Considering the size of this vat, a bottle of wine can take quite a while to make. Kudos for the grape juice.

I must tell you. My work shop has never ever, ever been that tidy! Your video editing and presentation of processing the build is nice. I have only liked a few cats. That said yours seems the exception. So much personality in four legs. I bet it’s a good hunter. Be well in this time. Til next time.

Excellent work👍👍👍 . Thanks for sharing. It reminded me of when my father used to make wine at home and I would do the pressing.

That Hammerite paint is some pretty good stuff. I use it regulary since it came out in the eighties. I have some pieces of wood painted 30 years ago and stored outside. They still look like freshly painted. The only offset is its very long cure time. I let everything rest for at least a month before further assembly. Just till it doesen´t smell anymore. After that its extremely reliable.....btw...top restoration.

That looks great. I’m glad you didn’t varnish the wooden slats and that you kept it “rustic” it still looks antique yet but “clean antique” if you know what I mean 👏👏

I really like how you restored and reused the old planks so it kept the rustic old look.

Beautiful work! Polishing all those bolts takes patience and dedication. Avril approves!

WOW what a great project. Lots of work removing old rust and grape crud so I hope these big projects pay better than the little ones. Watch that cat as they tend to over indulge. Excellent work!

Yes it gives flavour too like different barrels. Works the same. And don't expect your drink being made out of clean fruits except if its top shelf stuff

@@jarlbalgruufthegreater1758 lol. I don't even know where to begin with this. That's not how it works. I'm a bourbon drinker. I've been to several distilleries and wineries. The barrels are raw wood, sometimes charred at most... They do not contain axel grease, rust proofing sprays, pesticides, paints, etc, nor are they made with wood that has been heavily attacked by wood boring insects like this press was. The distillation process is extensive and clean to sterile from beginning to end, so I'm not sure where you get your low expectations from for clean fruit. The only difference between the standard brew and the "high end" stuff is aging and marketing. That's it.

Also, how would you market your Axel Jelly Burgundy? "Smooth, charred, floral notes with a hint of insecticide perfectly melded with rustproofing, and a healthy splash of candied apple bolt grease? LMFAO

Very pretty restoration. I'm guessing you are not planning on ever using it to press grapes since you stained the wood.

The next time you need to paint a shaft instead of wrapping your tape around the shaft, tape down the length instead. Makes it easier to remove the tape. PS thanks for the videos I enjoy them.

I have a press similar to this one. It has washers under those securing pins. They look original. Maybe yours had those, but in the past thery were lost. Perfect restoration nevertheless. Big like.
