I used to feel like due to their image, Goatmoon was a band I wouldn't be able to enjoy or shouldn't allow myself to enjoy. However, I came around to listening to them and they became an instant favorite. They are really damn good haha

Graveland is only labeled NS because the band members have NS beliefs. But these beliefs are almost never expressed in their music and they mostly keep it to themselves, so basically there's not even a problem here in regards to Graveland.

I have a Graveland album, and i could give two shits of their political beliefs i listen to what ever the hell i want.

Censorship is completely against the ethos of metal. True metalheads know and will always know what metal is really about, and the attempts by the likes of antifa to sanitize black metal of all things is laughable at best. It seems to me like these sorts of things make headlines, some lames cry about it, but the beating heart of metal just keeps going on. As long as there's one of us left, they will never truly win. I went to Steelfest last year and it was a breath of fresh air to be somewhere that completely rejects PC culture in metal.

I remember back in the 90s when PC culture flared up, I would.say that someday PC would choke all creativity and rational thought. I'm not saying we're there quite yet...but I definitely feel a clammy left hand on my throat.

Interestingly enough, PC culture has also now become synonymous with "cancel culture". Both are typically associated as being left-oriented but "CC" has traditionally been more of right dominated area. For a good portion of the 20th century, groups with right-leaning ideals and values sought out to stifle artistic creativity. In the 50's they went after comic books. In the 80's it was television shows, horror movies, and of course heavy metal.

Life , society, negative personal experiences, just has a way of hardening our hearts if we let it. Most of us know deep down what the difference between right and wrong.

I believe they’ve spent a great deal of time trying to go up against Vikernes but he’s much more intelligent than most of the antifa and cancel culture dipshits. I mean they managed to get his KZread banned but every single one of the videos is available on other KZread pages as archives. The weak and simpleminded feel they can silence their betters by screaming , yelling and protesting. They can’t see that the louder they get, the bigger their enemy becomes. Blatant racism was all but gone in my area until the ‘antiracists’ aka hard left socialists, antifa, BLM, etc started protesting and threatening our downtown businesses and citizens.

Good vid. But I kinda wanna clear up what I said in my video. I wasn't saying that something like this is deserved. I was saying that, if you want to be a band that says controversial shit, then I'm not going to feel sorry for you if you get protested or your show gets shut down. You're basically asking for this to happen. I'm not saying that anyone deserves to be threatened with violence or actually hurt, though. These guys doing this are behaving like terrorists and deserve to be treated as such. I come from a background of rallies and protests. And I was even into direct action for a while. But harming people isn't the way. It's a stupid band writing stupid songs about stupid shit. That's not worth innocent people getting hurt all because they happen to enjoy their music. Protests are fine. Threats are not.

Obviously no one should be being literally physically attacked for their music taste. Antifa isn't a centralized movement, there is no leader or anything of the sort. More of a philosophy. Obviously the individuals labeling themselves as Antifa here were stupid and in the wrong. A more interesting question is when does this speech blur the line between just words and an act of violence. If people are literally pushing for policy to remove people from countries they've lived their entire lives just because of their nationality or race for example, then what recourse should the potential victims of this take?

First off what you said about how extreme music attracts extreme people is true and works on both sides of the political Spectrum. First look at a lot of the grindcore which talks about far left politics so black metal isnt the ownly metal genre to attract extreme ideology. And you're definitely right on that ANTIFA probably could not conduct any research when doing this they probably just heard that some nazi people were playing at a venue and then open arms and stuff. If it were an actual Nazi band that a bunch of Neo-Nazi people were going to incite violence in then maybe ANTIFa's actions is a little more justified. Also using violence to put forth your own agenda has existed before fascism and has been used for Far left and the far right in wars and revolutions and so on. As a fan of black metal I may be biased but because I know a few thing about the genre, I can say if any of these bands are actually nazi or if they had any bad intentions with their concert and I know its an obvious no. Like you said, there are the actual neo nazis who happen to listen to bm but the majority are people who dont care or support the lyrics. Me as a latino I obviously dont like the nsbm message but none of those bands are nsbm and also its just art. I dont care about lyrics, I listen for the music, the art. Some of the biggest names in Thrash Metal are Libertarian and or Conservative. Slayer - pro 2nd amendment libertarian, Dave Mustaine - Conservative , Metallica - Libertarian... So I disagree with you on thrash.

I agree with you all the way. Regarding what you said about Nokturnal Mortum's statement, I kind of have the gut feeling that they only said that to keep their shows from being picketed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a few years back, Satanic Warmaster, Absurd, Kroda, and Nokturnal Mortum were all being targeted by these Antifa-types, and it was causing too many of their shows to get cancelled. I'm speculating here, but it seems like they only denounced their "previous" views to avoid the heat.

Which side is obsessed with race and always talking about it, and which side thinks race doesn't matter? Which side supports an all powerful and all controlling state in control of the economy instead of the free market? Which side is about collectivism instead of liberty and individual rights? The philosophy of fascism is a collectivist philosophy about a bundle of sticks being stronger together. Conservatism is about individualism and the rights of the individual. The left have used propaganda to distance themselves from this evil, but in reality Nazism and Communism are two sides of the same coin. Similarly tyrannical dictators often become bitter enemies and vie for power.

Graveland absolutely IS NSBM - not only obvious from album covers, song titles, lyrics, but also the pictures of the band giving Nazi salutes, and quotes from Rob Darken disavowing Satanism because "in the Third Reich, Satanists would have ended up in the gas chambers". Yes, I agree that the NSBM-association is often made incorrectly and to the detriment of bands who don't deserve it, but you made the wrong call on this one.
