You say more in under 4.5 minutes than many people given unlimited time. Thank you for all the quality you provide.

Charles had style, I can't lie. The pants are my favorite color and I'd rock those boots, lol. I was almost impressed by his self-assurance until I learned what it amounted to... Dr. Zucker's bougie impression was hilarious - loved that. 😂

@@smarthistoryvideos There is indeed (and I know nothing about him, lol). Quick update: I did link to the Apollo / Daphne sculpture in my little community. Most people clicked like and went about their business, but one young lady did get into a "we love the Baroque / Caravaggio" discussion with me, which was cool. I have no idea how many people checked it out, but I hope several and will share more works with them over time. :)

This video was practically a mini lecture on Charles' reign and the English Civil War. Excellent as always!

Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de transcription en français, on est pourtant au Louvre !

Roughly in the center there’s a horizontal seam in the painting?

That is common. Large paintings are often created on a canvas support that is patched together from two or more pieces. Looms are only so big! The resulting seams can become more visible over the centuries.

Ich liebe sein Handwerk. Ne qu'un visionaire peut montrer la noblesse avec plus d'elégance que cet homme.
