I love how you speak about it. So much information and education. You could do radio shows just on your own without any paintings or other art in it, just the emotions in the voices.. almost ASMR

I watched a video about Vermeer's life and loved his emphasis on the miraculous being in the mundane. It's a beautiful perspective on life that would probably give people more joy if they embraced it. We keep seeking more and more, but it's already right here. That's what his works remind me.

Very interesting discussion...I'm no expert, but in addition to his artistic ability and genius, I like how Vermeer used some of the same props [like the chair] in several of his works.

These narratives are absolutely wonderful! Very informative. Makes me want to study art. There should be thousands of views and likes. Gary

The composition is flawless. Who gives a crap about the camera obscura? Don't answer that; it was rhetorical. lol

The Republic of the Netherlands (first in Europe) has to be considered as a liberal society in the first place. The fact that royalty had no place there , gave the opportunity to develop new ideas and concepts. Protestantisme was a way of life that most of the time in the golden age was desireble but not to be forced upon people. Humanistic filosophy had a free posisition , so to speak .....

Vermeer was Catholic btw. as was most of the other dutch painters of the period. people exaggerate importance of alleged 'protestant culture' in creation pf these paintings.
