ANTHONY RUINED HIS CYLINDER ON HIS 80CC MOTORIZED BIKE

Ойын-сауық

In this video I ride over to Anthony's house to check out his 66cc motorized bicycle. From what he told me he basically didn't let the motor warm up before getting up in the RPM's and it ripped a ring land out. however I don't know that until I get there. Up until that point I was told it idles and just isn't running right. SMH.

The same thing happened to me! My boyfriend was on my lap while riding and he started rubbing on me and i accidentally over reved with the clutch engaged 😅 it took a couple nuts but i was eventually able to replace the cylinder and piston.

From owning a vintage two stroke 3 wheeler I have learned the hard way you need a fatter jet for freezing temps and never run the fuel to empty either will lead to a seizure.

No he's horrible on these Lil motors, he's a good dude but he's like a child and don't listen and lies a lot like a scared kid. I don't know why but it is what it is you know. I told him a million times about how he rides the bikes but he don't listen. I'm not sure but he might be on the spectrum tbh. I never asked cause I just assumed cause of how he acts.

Thanks, I learned this lesson the hard way too though writhing the first ten minutes my first 50cc seized twice but then I slowed down figured out wuts up and it lasted me like 10k maybe 15k miles and those were all very hard miles. I still have the motor and I am in the process of rebuilding it actually way better n ballsie

Lack of lubrication on a really tight motor. Larger ring gap probably would have been good. Because rings compress normally unless the gap isn't big enough.

  • @JMB676

Yeah all that could be a thing but this was just a hard life on a very well used bike that he beat on. So it could have been better cause there was lots of stuff I do now that I didn’t do back then that would have helped it live longer. He actually messaged me the other day about almost getting ready to rebuild his bikes. This one and the dio yd100. Gotta be honest I been wanting another crack at that yd100 reed set up. I k ow so much more now.

  • @Mr.E-gi5rq

@@JMB676 I would say though that you mentioned it had a little extra power . That's probably due to higher compression and worth noting . But a better way to get that would be smaller combustion chamber rather than rings that tight. It also means that you could reproduce the higher output on other motors. If there was a way to retard your intake valve closing and add compression you'd get a lot more power. Even if just a few degrees. Of course that would probably make you want to spin it a few hundred rpms faster.

@@Mr.E-gi5rq yes I see what your saying now, and yes for sure. When it comes time to rebuild it for him because I know he likes going fast and he’s very lite cause he’s small. I will definitely build him a much stronger motor with a much more repeatable power for higher rpms that I have found works well many times before as compared to this one. Which this was a nice motor but truth be told it was just luck that it was an okish running motor. I don’t check squish and really adjust it more then only squish as compared to raising the compression and checking ring gap or anything like that. The quality I’m positive he will like it way more. I’m hoping sometime this summer he will be ready but never know. But I’m in Florida working atm so when I get back I have another 110 I’m building and a phantom I’m goin to make better and a couple or three waiting on word about one of them, that I’ll be building for new videos to come. So we will see if I do better now.

No they were still intact. From what I can tell it was from not letting it warm up and it snagged the right side of the ring then forced the left side into the cylinder too. It's a shame cause it was a great lil runner. It's ok though I'm getting it all fixed up and ready to go.

@@catsbyondrepair I have had them last longer then that and for way more miles then the average person would ride in a year. It’s all in properly chamfered ports and alignment with ports. If all those things are done when building the motor and then the motor is cared for with proper oil ratio mix and not abused I can see them lasting indefinitely in a sleeved motor or until the lining gives in an aluminum cylinder. Kinda like what I am showing in the video I just recorded last night with my yd100 I had in tweaker. The motor has about 20k ish miles on it and still runs/ran but I took it apart last night and the lining is coming off after all those miles but the rings are perfect shape.
