Well, let me tell you a story about that....

This owner just needs one or two good employees, not a guy trying to take advantage of him. It's obvious because he won't even clean a window until he's legally in. What a disgrace.

As an event florist and a native New Yorker, I'd LOVE to have that location. It's a gold mine with access to a HUGE amount of foot traffic (and that front window is literally a stage that could catch the eye of thousands of people). Unfortunately, it oozes negativity and depression. To start. the younger guy is a huge turn-off. He talks over everyone -- including the owner. He introduces himself as a part owner, and it's then revealed that he isn't close to being an owner. He makes excuses for the filthy window, the horribly dirty fridge (inside and out), and the "Toys R Us" stuffed animal display. He's quick to point out that the owner isn't able-bodied, so why isn't HE taking care of the mess? He obviously has plenty of down-time to do a myriad of store projects (considering the one Robo-call and the lack of a single customer during the entire shoot). I don't believe he has six months rent in the bank, and I don't believe he had several of his own businesses that he "sold" in order to become a concierge. And finally, the child doesn't belong in the front of the store crowding an already tiny floor space. If he has to be there, put him behind the desk with school work or a hand held game system. Oh, and that arrangement the younger guy made? It's hardly professional, but even as it is, a NYC florist would never sell that size arrangement, in a vase, for $50 (and if they did, they'd be flying out the door). When asked how much life was left in the rose, he said, "I don't know", and then, when pushed by Anthony, he picks up another flower and deflects by asking Anthony if he knows what type of flower it is. And, he was totally serious when he said he'd deal with customer dissatisfaction by giving the customer anything they wanted and he'd pay for it by deducting the cost from an employees check (until he was told that was illegal -- then it was a joke). I think I see the problem....

Awww, god bless him! Hopefully he can help him. He needs so much help & is afraid they take his shop. That honestly happens a lot with elderly who still have a business & other family want to take over smh. He’s stronggg. He got this 💪🏽

In my opinion I believe there should be more internal colors in the shop and possibly a beautiful water pump, nature sounds, vision photos to help people in their decision making process. There are thousands of people on foot/vehicles... Window display is as crucial as marketing on line.

Every fukin time people make excuses for a FAILING BUSINESS!

Ok.. IF you go into a floral shop there should be flowers everywhere. It should be like going to a plant nursery You should see colors, large leaves, Huge flowers, baskets vases arrangements Live plants... Everything should be green or have color. You should turn a corner and something should catch your eye. Think going on a tropical holiday or springtime...

The way Bruce kept touching and pushing Anthony, and trying to keep control 🤬

Last time I was on York Ave & 88th St in NYC it was on the Upper EAST Side. I hate it when my neighborhoods get redistricted when I turn my back🤦

As a designer, not impressed. Arrangement too compact and I would mix some roses that aren’t as open. And where are the arrangements for customers to come in and buy as a walk in? And you’re right, the phone never rang and no one came in!

That arrangement is horrible. The man has worked in that business for that long and thats what he puts together.

The floral the man put together that ANTHONY wants us to comment on was pretty bad. It looks like something from my grandma's dining room table. Looks like an old and fake arrangement.

Tell the younger guy to shut up, please? On the work bench behind is a stool that is all torn apart and should be in the garbage same as the rubbish bin. The most obvious is it's old fashioned so why would these well paid people in the area buy here? A flower shop shop should be BEAUTIFUL, bright, on trend and what "the customer" wants. The bunch he made was just that a bunch. No finesse shown. Glad your back Anthony I missed you. 24:30 This guy has absolutely NO IDEA he is fiddling whilst Rome burns.

Well, his GoFundMe was started in August 2018, but it was updated in March 2020. His original plea cites months of unpaid rent (a substantial amount). He says he will pay off a portion of the back rent with the sale of his life insurance policy (his only asset). Even with that payout, he will still have a balance of unpaid rent, and he also has to pay for delivery vehicle parking fees, delivery vehicle parking summonses, and the big one -- he owe taxes to the government (and if it's sales tax, he's in a real mess). In his update, he only makes passing reference to their initial financial crisis, a situation he described as "being on the brink". His updated plea is 100% Covid related. In an effort to keep his doors open, he said he was going to solicit the mayor's office for an essential business classification (all florists have been seriously impacted by Covid). I think the tax issue will be their undoing.

A FRIDGE in a flower shop??!! And $ 50 for that bouquet? I know New York is expensive, but you really have to NEED those flowers to pay that. (I’m from the Netherlands, so flowers don’t have to be imported and are much cheaper.)

This place is a dump and hasn’t been touched for decades. It shows. It’s gonna take a crap load of cash to make this place look good. I’m not buying what the younger guy is selling. He sounds like a used car salesman, lots of talk and excuses.

What a BS Artist. Whats the business model? What's the mission statement? What is the financials for the last 5 to 10yrs? There is nothing special about the flowers at the beginning, windows dirty, display did not look impressive

Stop making dang excuses! You are the leader, lead or hire someone to manage it for you or sell out. Next, you need to clean up (inside and out), and create an eye-catching, fresh floral arrangements in the front. Remove the unnecessary notes, letters, and clutter from the window. Take pride in your business and what you do or don't do it. Have some flowers outside the business that you bring in and out daily. If you can't get healthy employees to work out source the work. Next, get rid of the excess inventory from the front space. What you do have displayed, make sure it's clean, new and appealing. Not like you have had it for 10 years and can't sell it. There are so many places there, with potential customers, go to the homes and businesses and see if you can arrange to bring them fresh flowers daily or weekly. There's a whole list of things you can do, but it won't be happening in front of that current view and operating processes and entrepreneur.
