#AntMan3 #Quantumania #EasterEggs
Guys, I am going to talk about Kang, Loki, the multiverse saga, the ending, how all of this sets up Avengers, the kang dynasty and secret wars. But also, we’re going to talk about this movie, whether or not it works, and how it brings the story of scott lang full circle.
So let’s get into those easter eggs. First of all, the marvel studios intro has now been altered to include Shuri fist pumping from Wakanda Forever [cli p]. And he who remains has also been added to the credits, foreshadowing Johnatahn majors return as kang.
Now the first trailer for this move was set to Elton John’s “goodbye yellow brick road,” which established that this movie is a loose retelling of the Wizard of Oz. In this case, Kang is the wizard, a scientist who landed in the Quantum realm long ago. Both he and the wizard built a fantastical city, oppressed the people of the land, and inspired fanatical hero worship in the people.
Then, people fomr the wizard’s world-the outside world-arrive. They go through a series of trials, meet some friends, and eventually, all of the outsiders return to their own world.
Doug: So who’s the wicked witch of the east? Is Kang the wizard and the witch?
I said it’s a loose retelling buddy, not everyone has an analogue.
Doug: I got an analogue for your butt.
Anyways, we begin the movie with a prologue that shows the wizard arriving in the quantum realm. Janet owns a small farm that keeps her alive, and this is answering a few questions people have about Harvard after quantum mania. Up until then, we had only seen the quantum realm as this weird freaky floaty place, but a deleted scene from ant-man and the Wasp elaborated on what we could expect in the sequel [worlds beyond worlds, etc]. In fact, they lifted this exact line of dialogue for Janet in this movie, when she explains the realm to her family.
Doug: Why would they take that out of the first movie?
Well, I’m glad they did. Because it sets up that she wanted to keep the dangers of the quantum realm a secret and that the time was traumatic for her. If she just started babbling to hank right away then this would have been undermined.
I thought it was interesting how Kang’s time chair-and his tech-revolves around rotating circles. Now in past videos we’ve talked about this visual similar to the ten rings, and how it would connect to the beacon at the end of shang chi. Even the gateway that Jabet opens later is covered in rings like the celestial technology we saw in the eternals.
I do think that all of this is eventually going to connect in some way, and we’ll cover a couple theories in a future video. But basically, what if the ten rings are the technology of an ang variant, left in our past a thousand years ago? And the beacon is calling out to the council of kangs. But more on them in a second.
Michelle Pfiffer has been digitally de-aged in this movie-and so far every ant-man movie has begun showing a de-aged pym in the prologue. Come a long way since this [prof x in x3]
Doug: The horror! The horror!
Hey didn’t you have an easter egg you wanted to share?

I think the recuring symbol os the ring we see represent the symbols/language as well as the other stuff. I think this is all representative of Eternity. Its been mentioned in several ways, now recently at least 3 times forced and on purpose. I think the symbols, or rings, or energy, is a way for Eternity to be communicating or something. We saw in Thor that Eternity never chose to speak or even move, exist. We saw it represented as a whole ora being when star lord saw it through Ego. Kang has seen that it is broken and understands the mechanics of it. The celestials express the immense power it may poses. like, when Kang said Eternity I felt it was forced and not generic of who Majors was playing. Its gonna be bigger for sure later on.

Kang told Janet twice that her daughter would open a portal, and she would be there. I forget the exact words, but it shows how his way of seeing time made him at least aware that those events would occur at some point. He asked her twice what she saw when she touched his mind, which makes me think that he has seen glimpses of what happens, but doesn't know every step of the way, otherwise he would have known her future answer. That makes his frustration with "losing" add up even though he knows he's going to accomplish his ultimate goal in the end, to "win"

  • @mrdavman13

    @mrdavman13

    Жыл бұрын

Kang isn’t looking into the future. He is looking at it all at once. So he probably sees those events always happening. He just doesn’t know the context is all the time. It could be happening a few different ways. But what Janet saw was his memories of what he had already done. He had already erased timelines and universes. But seeing all potential events all at once must make things blurry.

Call me crazy, but I think Ant-Man is one of the most dangerous characters in the MCU. As Giant-Man, he one-punched space whales and stomped Hulk-tier beings like Cull Obsidian into the ground. But with Pym Particles, Ant-Man can destroy enemies at the subatomic level. He's mind-bogglingly dangerous, and the only reason he's not S-tier is he's played by the kindhearted Paul Rudd. Wait that does make him S-tier.

From the moment she hears the others were sending a signal to the QR, she is visibly terrified and literally trembling I thought she did a good job of portraying genuine fear of Kang. The Quantum Void is the outermost layer of the Quantum Realm; We've seen it in the first Ant-Man and Doctor Strange films. It's an empty void full of ever changing geometric shapes. The layer further beyond the Void is the Wasteland, and that's the part of the Quantum Realm we heavily saw in the second Ant-Man film. The "Void" from Loki is something else entirely, that's at the end of time.

Yeah it seemed like the reviewers all had a meeting and decided they were going to hate the movie, rather than just be objective. What I watched was amazing. Part of the experience of marvel for me is loving the movie, then going online to see other people loving it too. I just loved the feeling of being a community in it. Then with Dr strange multiverse of madness it just ended. I loved the movie, then everyone hated it. I could see why they hated it, but I didn't go in with giga bazillion expectations, pretty much guaranteeing that it would disappoint. I went in excited to see a Sam Raimi marvel movie and was not disappointed. But this movie? I loved this movie and the reviewers just seem like they think they're too damn cool now. What a shame.

We really liked this movie, it had so many great visuals & ideas. Kang was portrayed so well by Jonathan, like he already did with He Who Remains. The interconnections are great. We also enjoyed Multiverse of Madness. But there are so many people nowadays who like to put everything down that's not exactly as they imagined. Everyone thinks he is the perfect director/writer/cinematographer and knows best. This constant whining is so annoying, and you have it everywhere, in every franchise. These people aren't fans, they are just freaks who should get a life and stop watching.

Here's a theory: When Kang emerges into the MCU in Kang Dynasty, he wins because (as Ryan pointed out) the heroes are not a functioning team of Avengers and too disassociated to unite against him. This prompts the kids (Speed, Wiccan, Patriot, Hawkeye, etc) to come together as the Young Avengers to win the Secret Wars. Wasn't the Young Avengers' 1st opponent Kang in the comics?

Other things to note: (1) When Kang's faceplate pulls back to reveal his skin, the last part of him to have the blue color fade is his eyes. That, and the subtle finger-waving, indicates that his technological prowess is controlled directly by his mind. (2) When Cassie says "Don't be a dick", she's referring to Wheaton's Law, which honors Wil Wheaton. (3) In one scene, while Kang is viewing the Multiverse, we can see Incursions ON the timeline as small sparks or fireworks.

  • @emilyk5168
    @emilyk5168 Жыл бұрын

I heard a rumor Loki would be looking for He Who Remains in Season 2. Although that would be a change from last season. It does seem like the TVA will soon learn "free will" leads to multiversal war. But there must be some better compromise than "only one timeline" (what makes it sacred to he who remains? ravonna?) and "no timelines or else there is war (kang in this movie). Shouldn't there be a variant of Kang (Immortus maybe?) who would monitor several timelines with the TVA but try to keep them from having incursions? (Isn't that also supposed to be what the Sorcerer Supreme's job is? To protect this reality? He should help too.) Then you could have several teams--either Avengers or Fantastic Four or whatever--running at the same time? Parallel realities, no un-supervised cutting across. Not a crazy Council of Kangs like we see in this. More like an Avengers team made of Kangs? (Maybe he needs to be part of a team? Like in Young Avengers? Or experienced family with the Fantastic Four? Something sappy like that?) He Who Remains had the idea of passing the gig on. Couldn't he give it to the Fantastic Four or something? Also, do we know what timeline the Loki show is in now? But they were saying Mobius was in "Deadpool" so is it possible it's in the X-Men timeline now as branched as it is? As odd as it is, I feel like Kang and Loki represent order versus chaos in the universe, and I think these two need to hash it out.

When Kang arrived in the QR, it’s shot from the same angle as when Loki used the tesseract in his show. Both were shot from afar from the top left and landed in the opposite corner, kind of linking them together. Could be a reach but I thought it was interesting

*I think the citadel at the end of time is all that is left of the place where the Kangs were meeting after the multiversal war tore it apart. I also think the 3 kangs were the statues in said citadel and the broken statue we saw on the floor was the 4th kang they threw down the outcast conqueror. Who is the very same he who remains after winning, the broken statues visage returned victorious over all the rest. Now eternally watching the perfect sacred timeline pruning any errant branches which lead to challenges to his power. Set on a specific precarious path which stops other Kangs from existing but leaves the universe exactly where it needed to be for the first Kang to be born again if control was ever lost. Like a ball at the top of a hill, easy to hold up but with so much potential to go downward and without the effort will fall down inevitably. Loki and Slyvie were his chance at true freedom, a chance to finally die while maintaining the balance preventing him from returning but with a safety mechanism that if ever things got out of control he would arise again to make sure he, or other beings who would eventually make his same mistake from destroying everything. He was warning them they were playing with fire and now he is suffering the worst penance for a man who wanted to rule everything...Eternal watch of that thing over and over the same boring loop to protect the universe from himself as punishment for his own desire to rule it all. Like red skull set to watch over the very stone he sought damned to never have it. The MCU is so good.

i know its a reach, but...im pretty sure this movie is giving us the origin of the annihilation wave. Can you think of any other insectoid advanced species that seems to be evolving at a crazy rate in a pocket universe? Throw in a control rod and its ready to go. Thanks a lot hank!

I think the big sizing of the pizza was also a reference to Pym’s kitchen in Disney’s California Adventure where the food is enlarged through Pym technology.

I had a question when cassie opened the portal in the end for hope and scott what would’ve happened if hope and scott wouldn’t have survived and kang walked in? How was cassie sure that hope and scott won the battle?

It wouldn't matter. If they lost, she still would want to know and would've opened it anyway. Her, because her dad was there, and Hank and Janet because their daughter was there.

Rotten Tomatoes now 48 to 85 for audiences, I think critics really just wanted to see marvel fall 😂

Most movies have a higher audience score than critic score. The only times that the critic scores are higher are usually in niche movies or movies pushing a political message.

I also like the stroll down the sidewalk with narration at the end for how it resembled Dr. Strange's walk at the end of MoM and not everything being quite right. I'm curious if we'll see another.

Darren's ultimate work of villainy was turning a man to a shrunken goo pile and flushing said goo pile man down a toilet. That's unredeemable. And you don't redeem M.O.D.O.K.. Ever. Period.

I feel so proud of myself for predicting that Darren Cross would become MODOK and that Scott wouldn't die. I seriously feel like I was one of 10 people on earth who knew Marvel wouldn't kill him off in his third film.
