My boyfriend and I have been together for six years and we’re from the northeast and feel the same way! We live together and for us it is no rush. We’re only 23 and 24 and weddings are expensive and we’d rather focus on saving and traveling right now! Totally get it, it’s definitely the northeast way

My boyfriend and I are celebrating 10 years in October and we’re 26, we’re definitely more ready for marriage in the coming years but parenthood is still far off for us. There is LITERALLY no rush when you’re already with your person. :)

I totally respect that you talk about taking life at your own pace and not rushing into things just because other people your age that may be from your geographic area are. I also really love how optimistic you are! That is awesome that you were able to pay for college back then through social media! Don’t ever pressure yourself due to someone else’s timeline in life ~ Everyone has their own relationship and the correct pace that is right for them as a couple, why rush things?

I lost my mom when I was 14 and my dad this year at the age of 27. The amount of grief is unbearable some days. I remember when your dad had passed and my heart hurt so bad for you. My dad was truly my best friend in the entire world. You sharing bits of your grief journey has helped me tremendously.

Been watching you since your OOTDs in high school! I feel like that was your start when KZread was in its OG days and then I agree the college vlogs were prime!!! Love watching you Gretchen❤️

I know it may seem like the end of the world bc it’s your career and large part of your life. But this world we live in is literally crazzzy!!! It’s crazy because I remember watching your video a couple weeks ago of you talking about finally getting therapy after losing your dad but I couldn’t really ever relate to you in that way. Now I’m watching this hearing you talk about your dad.. my dad just passed away last Sunday so suddenly in a motorcycle accident :( I was not prepared for any of this and it seems impossible. So now your journey means so much to me to watch because right now I feel so lost.. anyways thank you for being open about your journey, it’s helping me a lot now.

My dad died last summer very unexpectedly. Honestly throughout the course of this year, you and your videos got me through. I was 18 when I lost my dad and none of my friends had. I didn't know how to do this, how to have a dead dad. Thank you for everything and for showing me how to come out of that worst day without losing my sense of self or positive outlook on the world.

You’re so right! Settling down at a young age is definitely not as common in the northeast as it is in other parts of country. There was never any relationship pressure growing up in NY but it was all people talked about when I moved to the south.

I also lost my dad in 2019! I feel that our journeys with grief are largely similar, and watching your videos about him have helped me a lot! A friend told me, "Grief will come in waves, some days and moments will be much harder than others." It's 100% true. If you wrote a book about it, I would read it!

You should 100% write a book about that!! I lost my dad when I was a baby and 18 years later I still carry that grief and would love a good book from a young person on how to deal with it!!

Gretchen I love you 😭 I really think you should consider more writing that book. Even if you help ONE person it would be soo worth it. If someone feels alone and has no one to talk to or confide in, opening a book with your words of comfort would be incredible and could really pull someone out of a deep dark hole

Girl, no shame with the tampon incident. I wish that was my case, but nope, my trip to the OBGYN was because of a condom getting stuck so far up me and couldn't get it out. Totally mortified and that relationship ended promptly after that (there were other things, but that was the nail in the coffin!).

Don't be embarrassed by your er moment, im glad as a 35 yer old woman watching you as a great KZreadr at 24 making other women esp younger about the tampon scenario, I was warned about that as a teenager so I don't use them either for that reason. Plus also yes I agree why don't they have a class in school to male young people aware of emotional and mental wellbeing after a loss of a loved one, ive been lucky at that age I didn't but did have tge odd friend go through it and I'm from Edinburgh, Scotland, UK and there is that here either or why we're not taught about finance's and debt either?
