Just wanted to say thanks, great video. Prinsu is towards the top of my list for a new rack on my new 4runner. The 4runner options are endless, this video is exactly what I was looking for and saves time researching online, calling manufacturers/dealers etc. Good stuff

We simply use 3M tape for front 2 mounting feet! Since the rest of the Rack is bolted on, its still retains its strength!

We used load panels in this application but you could use any number of mounts that we offer depending on what you want on your roof rack.

What’s the load rating of the full-size version?

The static load capacity of the rack is just north of 700 pounds while the dynamic weight is around 250. That being said we recommend that you stay within the factory-specified load ratings for your rig.

There are a few different ways that you could go about removing it. A body shop would use an eraser wheel attached to a drill or pneumatic tool. You can pick up these erasers online or at auto supply stores for pretty cheap. You could apply heat to the silicone using a hairdryer or heat gun and then simply peel the silicone off and clean it up with some acetone. The key here is to be very careful when heating so as to not damage the paint. Last I've heard that you can soak the silicone in WD-40 for 15 minutes and then it will peel off very cleanly and simply. Never tried the last one but I don't see when it wouldn't work.

We worked specifically with 3M to make sure that we got the right stuff. With their expertise and our application we believe this is the perfect material to use to adhere the foot to the roof but still allow it to be taken off down the road if needed and to eliminate any drilling. Their engineers and team members made sure that our outdoor application would work for all climates and applications our customers put their vehicles through. Keep in mind however that the rest of the roof rack is bolted down to factory mounting points which are extremely secure as well. Its tried and tested and it works!
