    This Answering 7 Common FAQ's About The Navy Reserves via the Navy Transition Coach youtube contains some informative and thorough references that helped me understand more of what to expect even with I being a prior active duty navy vet. Additionally, the Navy Transition Coach's youtube video feature helped me understand some of the reasons why my navy reserve recruiter is helping me to process eventually joining the navy reserve in the rate I held from my prior navy service and both the features on full time support and what rates are available for those interested in eventually applying for full time support are also among some of the multiple helpful features of this video.

    For DCO is there an age cap if you go from enlisted to applying to be an officer? Do all programs still have to attend OCS also? I was thinking about going that route reserve or enlisted then apply to be an officer.

    If you get picked up to become an officer in the reserves, could you then put in a request to go active, and try to pursue Pilot?

    I served in the Marines from 2015-2020 as an Avionics Technician for F18's and I'm thinking about joining the Navy Reserves. Since I got out of the military, I have had multiple Technician jobs on the civilian side and I also have a good IT background. What would be some good suggestions for jobs if I want to join the Navy Reserves? Any recommendations?

    Hey, thanks for asking this question. I think it'll be a great topic for a video. This way I can go into depth on how you can find out what you should be paying attention to. P.s. Don't forget about the bonus. So far it ends September 2024.

    What does a pay for a person in reserve look like ? I’ve heard a lot of different answers I’ve looked at the chart thing and that’s about 70 or smth and it’s about 250 on the navy website and according to my recruiter he said that it’s about 2-3k?

  • @NavyTransitionCoach

    Depending on rank, E4 and below will bring in about $250 per month after taxes for drills only. There are definitely other ways you can make money in the Reserves.

    Also how hard is it to become an officer from enlisted ? What’s the process, do you need approval from hire ups , and how long does it take ?

    I've never gone through this process but, like in anything else in the Navy...paperwork takes the longest. I did speak to someone who said it took her 1 yr and 6 months to put on rank. She was E6 and went direct commission.

    What’s the minimum amount of years you can be an active duty officer for 3,4,5 ? Like say I join the reserves finish school then apply for an officer can I continue my enlistment as an officer or do I have to sign a new contract and go to officer training school ?

  • @NavyTransitionCoach

    You will get a new OFFICER contract. Totally different from enlisted. I'm thinking 6 years but not completely sure.

    Hi hun, so glad I came across your page. I am in the process of becoming a Navy reserve officer. A little nervous. Are we able to email you and ask other related questions? Main questions are about excelling in my Navy career as a reservist (officer, if I get accepted). My recruiter explained a lot. However, I need to speak with someone who can relate. (If that makes sense). I can share more if you're available via email. Thanks much ❤

    So basically you can’t do reservist and collect disability

    I was told you can’t receive reservist pay and disability pay because it’s considered double dipping that u would have to pick a pay

  • @NavyTransitionCoach

    @NavyTransitionCoach

    @@chynamonae6084 that's half way correct. The important missing piece is "on the same day". Example; you can't receive drill weekend pay and disability pay at the same time. For Drill Weekend you have to choose which you want to receive. Then after drill weekend you begin to collect Disability pay again. That make sense?
