Same. Gave me nightmares. I don't know why there was some scary shit on tv when I was a kid. Fire in the Sky, X-Files, Invaders From Mars. That last one is kind of weaksauce but the effects were creepy and it was pg for whatever reason.

+Screamin Yellow Mach Good news is, if you believe Travis Walton really was abducted, his original story didn't include that bit at the end. His original story was he couldn't remember much of it. It wasn't until later, when he published his book in '78, that he detailed what went on during his abduction. It was not a painful invasive medical examination, but a very bland description of events. Up to you to believe him or not.

We believe it to be a system malfunction. " Dark Skies gave me fucking nightmares for a few weeks. It deserves its place on this list. I totally agree. Great film.

I still remember watching "Signs", alone, in my small appartment. I remember screaming my lungs out once in the movie: when they are in the basement and the alien slips is arm down in an attempt to catch the son. OMG I really jumped!!! :) I felt silly ....

I'm not terrified of alien movies. But "The Fourth Kind" was the first to kill me with fear. I like how they incorporated the extraterrestrial and spiritual together.

Also in "signs", those things are dumb. "Lets invade a planet covered 75% with the one thing that we are deathly allergic to." "Really Dave, ya think that's a good idea? Seems pretty dangerous."

We cant look straight to the sun or we go blind. The planet is full of viruses and bacteria that can get us killed. Actually we cant even breath pure oxigen for long periods of time without our brains going dark. We are alive just because of out tech, cause this blue marble is actually a freaking deathtrap.

Agustin Freyre yeah.... but humans -anatomically modern humans (homo sapiens)- have existed for over 315,000 years without technology (as defined by you... technology technically back then would have been akin to some kind of hand tool). Therefore the "blue marble" is very well suited for human beings, as well as the plethora of other biological species that inhabit it. Homo sapiens were actually able to sleep outside at night, in arctic places in some instances, and the proof is us...homo sapien sapiens'. The entire homo genus (taxonomically speaking) used some type of shelter to keep safe during the night, mainly because of the vast amount of predators that could easily make a meal out of them. So their shelters were more for practical reasons like safety, and also, to an extent, warmth. But many were rudimentary and didn't help keep them warm, like at all, fire helped with that (think of a huge cave, which was not typical for many tribes of early humans.. It'd still be cold as hell and a fire would only help heat up a small area around it). Fire was also used to keep predators away.... But I digress: My point is that although almost anything can kill a person-drinking too much water will kill you ("the dose makes the poison")-this planet is very special in that it can sustain not just life, but a huge diverse array of life. Signs, in my opinion, was a good movie. It held my suspension throughout the film when I first saw it. The problem is that the plot twist was terrible, in that water is lethal to the invading aliens because 73% of earth IS water... not to mention the fact that water is in THE AIR ITSELF. So even if the aliens didn't breath air, the moisture in the air should have effected the aliens right when they arrived. They'd be so fucked if it were to rain hahaha. Shyamalan could have avoided this by having the aliens be susceptible to ANYTHING else, like salt/sugar/etc... but he didn't. When you rub the audiences nose in your own ignorance and shitty plot device, there is going to be backlash, justifiably so, because although people understand movies aren't reality and give movies leeway when it comes to science/law/how things work/etc, the audience doesn't want to be reminded of that. You can't just randomly defy gravity in a movie to save the life of the protagonist without telling the audience how that worked, or by waving your hands and saying "don't worry about it". Yea, some people are sticklers when it comes to science/reality in movies (but no one watches movies with those type of people Lol) but the vast majority of people want to to entertained. Just don't brazenly misuse some plot device because it works for a single scene because 1)it undermines the whole movies premise and 2)it takes the suspense out of the rest of the film, and ruins re-watching the movie entirely. Sure, a movie isn't going to be as suspenseful on your second watch but if you've undermined the premise-in this case aliens coming to take over earth-the entire movie seems laughably infantile. The sad part of this is Signs had HUGE potential due to its themes (faith, triumph over adversity, alien invasion) and could have been made into a sequel (it wasn't supposed to be but as we've seen, it definitely could have)... diving into questions like: Why are the aliens here? What is their goal in invading earth? How will the entire world take down this advisory? But because of the ridiculous plot device of water being not just lethal, but devastatingly so, viewers came out of the film feeling like their intelligence was being insulted. There really is no defense for that specific plot device because there are so many other options that could have been used which wouldn't have changed a single thing other than water being the aliens kryptonite (the movie Evolution used a chemical, selenium sulfide, which is in Head & Shoulders shampoo.... now THAT'S a creative, unique, and effective solution to the question: What kills these aliens?) Ultimately, Signs will now be known as a second-rate alien film instead of what it could have been... an emotional, thrilling alien invasion film that inspires people to believe that no matter what, there is more to life than meets the eye.

Signs was always my favorite bc it builds up this stuff so well I’ve always been interested in aliens and knew they existed when I saw what I thought was a drone in the air at about 10 or so at night but it was far to big and hovered with four very bright and strange flickering lights not even making a single noise I went in to get my dad while my mom watched it and we came back out and it was gone and my mom said she never saw it leave creeped me out to this day I’m 18 now that happened two years ago

Yeah the aliens from V/H/S/2 are pretty creepy, but the sound of their ship or whatever just makes me imagine they're riding around on a flying train.

Yea as soon as I saw that I was like NOPE I'm good lol. I typically enjoy alien movies and I've seen most on the list but I just can't watch that. It's about as tough as watching John Wicks dog die. That sucked so bad. At least the rest of the film was about revenge for the death of his dog lol.

ironic isn't it? since I've had my boxer for the past 2 year i can't watch ANYTHING that has injured dogs in it, HOWEVER hurt or injured humans on film or tv doesn't bother me in the slightest. ..well...adults anyway ...hurt children same affect as hurt dogs lol

Intruders was my all time favorite, the Aliens in American Horror Story Asylum were pretty neat as well.

When fire in the sky came out I was 8 and begged my mom to watch it with me, I loved the aliens. Best realistic aliens to this day in my opinion

+Molly Schindler When I was little, I was scared by an ironing board standing in the corridor. And the aliens from Signs aren't scary in any way. Their overall design is so completely generic that they are laughable instead of being intimidating (which makes this scene with Joaqin Phoenix shouting "oh!" so idiotic...), they are so hopeless that they are unable to get through a wooden door, can be beaten to the death with a baseball bat and are killed by water - which is, you know, one of the most common things on our planet. Seriously... there is NOTHING scary about them! NOTHING!

+Timber Wolf they really didn't deserve to be on this list because of how stupidly vulnerable they ended up being, but the Brazil sequence was awesome nonetheless. Shyamalan should have never shown them completely.

That scene from Fire in the Sky fucked me up as a kid more than Nightmare on elm street, Friday the 13th, Childs play, Halloween, and Hellraiser all combined. Those things are nightmare fuel.

Fire in The Sky and Intruders freaked me out as a kid and still do, I love this topic though, go figure!

I thought they were terrifying and well. I always thought the classic "Greys'' or similar type of aliens are always scary with the huge eyes and cold demeanor. The ones in fire in the sky was very unsettling. It took me a while to figure out why. I think it because the beings in this movie were very human like with the facial expressions and the and seemingly malicious attitude. They looked like very old, mean hairless men.

The aliens from Fire in the Sky are definitely the scariest aliens on this list by far, and probably out of most movies I've seen. The way they look with that creepy wrinkly skin and tiny beady eyes, and how malicious, cold, and calculating/soulless they were was so freaking scary to me. I had so much trouble dealing with that disturbing experiment scene, haha.

When I saw that movie, the ending completely ruined it for me, nothing was resolved. Otherwise, it was okay until that point.

The aliens from Dark Skies 2013, that movie still freaks me the hell out.

I was starting to get teary-eyed when the yorkie fell and started dying.. I love dogs..
