Another HUGE Desert Rose! | Potting a MONSTER Adenium Obesum!
We have found another monster adenium! I was at a local nursery called Jimbo's in Santa Fe, TX when. my wife found this awesome desert rose! When I pulled it out of the pot I could not believe it!
This video will also walk you through the basics of how I pot my adeniums as well.
Hope you Enjoy!

I also look at the caudex because of the look of it. I just started to plant seeds. I hope they sprout. Started to look at deep rose videos and discovered yours.
Drywall Tape works really well to cover the holes up.
Nice man. I had a few growing that started to flower but they all died over the winter. This winter I'll bring them inside or build a greenhouse. Keep us updated on your two.
Mandrake is what you were thinking of with Harry Potter.

Yes! Thank you!
Good to see so many people are growing these fantastic plants! I bought my first one in 1990, It was at a cactus green house in Dundas Ontario Canada, It was also a lot of growth on top and all the tater was in the pot. When I transplanted it, it was beautiful huge caudex that constantly flowered. Now I live in Victoria British Columbia and garden centers are getting them in every color imaginable! I just picked up a white flowering one grown from seed and not from a graft, It is good to be back at it!

That’s awesome!
Harry Potter reference: Mandrakes. They scream when lifted. I raise adeniums too and if I get a good caudex underground, I call it my little mandrake. 😂

Awesome plant!!
Hello, thanks for sharing lots of great information. I am a Desert Rose fan too. I read that you are not sure about using cinnamon, but have you ever heard about using Titebond glue III to seal the plant after pruning?
Love the channel
Sweet plant, love them
Massive caudex!!! Subscribed
Nice bud. I repotted one of mine recently.
nice dog you have sir
How are you adding nutrients?
I have a large desert rose. 4’wide x 3’ tall above soil. It is in a large pot. 24” at top. I had branches that we’re getting mushy and there is a small section about 20% of the roots that got mushy. I pulled it out of the pot and cut out the mushy sections and put it in my garage to dry out. we live in Southwest Florida with a lot of rain this time of year throughout the summer. We put cinnamon on all the bad areas that were cut out. Please help if you can.. I watched your video where you use the bonsai mix. Is there something I can fill the bottom of the pot to save money on the mix since the desert Rose is not that deep.

You could use gravel I suppose

I would look into my buddy Jerome from @thebonsaisupply. He has a video on dealing with rot on a desert rose
You don’t have to put cinnamon where you trimmed? It looks great.

I didn’t on this one. I’ve done some more research and I’m not sure that it does as much as I thought it did.
If I just bought a desert rise that’s currently flowering of if I replant it in a pot will it stop the flowering?

Maybe but only briefly.
Is that an obesum?
