Tracy as a teenager, in the mid 70s we went to Mt Washington when the old Man of the Mountain was still there,( its since fallen away) we went in the middle of August and the bottom of the mountain it was 83% and we took the tram to the top and it was snowing and 28%! We were In shorts and T-shirts and couldn't wait to get into the welcome center on the top of the mountain.

I love all you guys! Squirrels kill all the dirt in my flowerbeds. Then the flowers die anyway. Mint and netting around my flower tower are ok. But here it rains a lot so I have to redo the mint spray over again. Then I found ground squirrels there too. Cayenne works too but the same problem. Lots of dogs here but all on leases. We have a lot of crows too. Minnesota. Issues.

Where can I get a good fig tree? I’m serious.
@cececox63992 күн бұрын
You just take a clipping of someone's fig tree you like. 😂 And because it grew locally it's already used to your weather and soil conditions. My parents would knock on the door of a house with a beautiful plant/tree and just politely ask if they could take a cutting or if they could find out where the owners bought it from. And they were always given permission and usually the owners were ecstatic to finally have someone who was interested and would spend hours talking about it and it's history. They made many wonderful friends that way. Apparently it's normal. But I'm not a gardener, I've just been forced to knock on and ask for my parents so that's how I know it works. Plus it's super helpful getting all their tips about the plant and how they care for it. Plus they survived every single time. But if my parents bought from a garden centre it was hit or miss on if it would even survive. Because they're often in the wrong soil and the completely wrong conditions. Like daily soaking plants that come from deserts. Most of the time they're too far gone to save. My parents are well into their 70/80s and if anyone could keep them alive it would be my father. He hates buying plants. He always chooses to get cuttings/seeds ect from other local gardeners. Plus you can get some REALLY expensive plants for literally absolutely nothing. So it's a cheap way of having the most beautiful garden in your area. It's WELL worth the effort and social anxiety of knocking on strangers doors. 😂 Just make sure that you don't go knocking on at sickly times. 😂
