Definitely. This is the second video I have watched from this guy. Not impressed at all. If he is going to dissect deep music at least take it seriously. As I said in my other comment. Music can be very meaningful and sometimes spiritual for some people. I don’t like when people are flippant about it. And you cannot be flippant or irreverent about The Pink Floyd. 🌙

I went to the same school as Roger, many years later. It is no longer an all boys grammar school, but a sixth form college. The back of the original building has a wall with students names carved into the brick going back many years. Names that the students had carved themselves as like graffiti or vandalism, I guess. Not many people seem to know this. Not sure if it happened before, during or after Roger was there.

Ever seen the movie "The Wall"? It's pretty...weird. And that was the introduction to Pink Floyd that a college friend had. Back then, possibly because of my age or possibly because it was college and there was a lot of "sharing" of music going on in the dorms, people would listen to the music you liked as a way to get to know you. That might still be true, but hell if I can tell, as people have zero patience for music outside their spotify playlist. But in any case, forty years ago, he made the effort to listen to music I liked, and that movie was his introduction to Pink Floyd. It was totally outside his tastes. And he loved it and became a fan of Pink Floyd. He loved the intensity of it, and tried to figure out what it meant. I hadn't even done that!

Well, this song is part of a concept-album, so actually it is the emotion and memories of the main character on the album, a rockstar named Pink Floyd (in this story that's not the name of the band that performs it, it is the name of the main character) His education was one of the bricks that filled up his own "wall" that he metaphorically bricked himself in, until one bad day when he is supposed to perform another concert, he finally withdraws behind his "wall" and cuts off from the world. (In reality, he is just sitting alone in his hotel room)

Not to sound harsh, but have you listened to The Wall fully? I think you would find many more complex answers as to what the construction, the presence, and the breakdown of 'the wall' symbolises over the runtime of the project, as for your interpretation in this video, it is an analysis which has not been 'only' realised and discovered within the past week and the surprise you present in this analysis makes me doubt your knowledge on the source material.

One cannot fully interpret the lyrics of 'Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2' without considering the preceding track, 'The Happiest Days of Our Lives.' This entire segment of the album appears deeply mean-spirited and somewhat misogynistic. It seems to be written from the perspective of the damaged persona, 'Pink.' According to the lyrics, Pink perceives some teachers as mean because they are married to 'fat and psychopathic wives' who abuse their husbands. At this point, Pink's emotional 'Wall' begins to build, influenced by Bad Mommy, Missing Daddy, and Meany Teacher & Psycho Wife. It's clear that one should view these lyrics within the context of a narrative thread, not a literal interpretation. Otherwise, one might mistakenly accuse Roger Waters of secretly feeding girlfriends into shredders...

This may be true but the beautiful thing about music is that there doesn’t a have to be any specific meaning to a song and you can relate to a song or have your own interpretation on it that somebody else does not. Music is art

Did you see the movie or even listen to the album? It’s about building a wall around you and not letting people in. It’s about protecting your heart from getting hurt. Meaning school and the teachers were just more bricks in the wall. At the end of the movie a small child is collecting bricks and putting them in a wagon. As in getting ready to build his own wall.
