If it's not a competition, it's a challenge to see how many people you can help after you've helped yourself. And even if it was a competition, you still need to surround yourself with people you can rely on and trust.

Been lifting for years. Story is totally believable. The strongest dudes at the gym are often the kindest.

Been lifting for 7 years, every gym chad ive ever met is very friendly.

Is shown a basic amount of generosity by someone enthusiastically "Is this my king? My king. My liege."

This sort of thing shouldn't make a grown man cry, but it will. And I will understand. Remember to pay it forward in anything you are expert, or anything above novice in. Knowledge is power.

I was on /fit/ like 7 years ago and first thing I saw was some guy trying to bribe random people into having sex with his gf because he wasn’t able to. A few years later I see a post of some guy asking if it’s possible to induce mental illness into oneself. Is this what qualifies as “making it”

This unironically happened to me. Two buff brothers at the gym who could do max weight at most equipment there approached me and we worked out together daily. For like 3 months.

The more muscles a person in the gym has the more respect they show to everyone else, those people went a long way to become chads and they clearly understand that everyone who got some guts to get their ass off the sofadeserve, go to gym and work out to become a better self deserves respect

I like to believe that while Anon feels like he met his King. The said King (Chad) actually find a potential rivals/best buds and is actively training him to become a fellow King, so he can lift potential king.

It's wierd to think about, but the stereotype of "gym bros" doesn't exist for no reason. There are a lot of guys, and even a number of gals out there who are quite eager to get others into their favorite hobby. I think it largely comes from them being one subgroup of a much larger sphere that can broadly be labeled as "self-improvement enthusiasts". My sister is one of them, and the general hobbies of that crowd is all about learning self-improvement. Whether it's physical fitness, dietary biology, psychology and mental health, or something like that. They absolutely love to splurge on everything they know during conversations, and would like nothing more than to help someone else using what they know.

this is how we should all be at the gym. personally I see an overweight person at the gym as even more impressive than a buff person. it means they put a crazy amount of effort in to come.
