Regarding the crate… my dogs enjoy their crates. And the crate should be much bigger than the dog. Benji should be able to stand up comfortably and turn around. There shouldn't be too much additional space in the crate. Dogs prefer a small space that feels secure and safe. Using a puppy divider can help ensure Benji’s crate is the appropriate size as he grows.

I am in my 60's and when you mentioned the situation about if you can afford outside sources, we should utilize them. I totally agree because I grew up in an era where we were actually taught that we are capable of taking on every obstacle that comes our way. I am a retiree who has many household responsibilities and it all can become so overwhelming so your insight on seeking help with things resonated with me. After hearing your luxury comments I have literally been living the life you talk about regarding not cheating ourselves out of the luxuries we deserve. I did a 30 something year career and have EARNED the right to live the life of having the best of the best of whatever I want as long as it doesn't interfere with my financial well being. And another factor with that is that life is too short to work hard and not enjoy the fruits of your labor which means to me=TREAT YOURSELF WHENEVER IT'S REASONABLE within your budget. Us African Americans really do have a stigma attached to accomplishments and rewarding ourselves, in which we shouldn't have.
