This video is almost 9 years ago but it never loses its spark and charm. this song are one of those songs that helps me a lot to keep going and to keep hanging in there and to seize my life here on earth.. Anna, if you only knew how much u inspire me... im so thankful for your words :)

This song is definitely one of the most legendary American songs.

Ive used this song to teach poetic devices such as metaphors, similes, personification, etc. to my class - very well written

Ha! Hello, fellow English teacher! I use it as well, in addition to almost everything by Concrete Blonde and R.E.M. Happy to see other teachers using the power of music to transmit our lessons to the kids!

She’s such a great songwriter, amazing singer, and just gorgeous, I can’t believe this is the only song I’ve known of hers all these years. “Just as far in as you’ll ever be out” always loved that line. And when do you ever hear anyone sing a whole verse a cappella like that? I could listen to her sing all day.

Been bouncing around youtube looking at all performances of this song. This runs away with the trophy.

One of the most criminnaly under-rated songs ever. 🎵 There's a light at each end of this tunnel you shout, cuz you're just as far in as you'll ever be out. And, these mistakes you made you'll just make them again if you only try turning around. 🎵 You are still on the journey, you made a mistake, don't give up and turn around without learning anything, or you will make the same mistakes on your way back.

She had more great songs, she is great song writer. Very underrated!

When I was having anxiety attacks years ago, the only thing that helped was listening to the words, "Breathe..Just Breathe...oh Breathe..Just Breathe". This kept me from loosing it. I was able to focus on the moment and breathe in and out slowly. Thank you Anna.. :) big FAN.

Just to let you know, in 2004 the Air Boss would play this song on the flight deck PA of the Nimitz (CVN-68) at pre-flight around 0330. I flew helicopters, so we we were first to get airborne, then the fighters. Then he'd play Carly Simon and Carole King. You were in good company and loved in the Persian Gulf.

I miss the days when songs mean something like this one it brings tears to my eyes
