"Ipanema" is a rich neighborhood, and she uses it as a tribute to the original singers and also name it as "Girl from Rio" cause shes trying to say that Rio its much more than what people think it is, not just the rich and skinny top models, girls, but all kind of women. and not just the glamours lifestyle by the beaches in dowtown. The place where it was shooted is a artificial beach in a poor area of Rio, that the poor could use without "disturbing" the tourists (yeah crazy).

Yeah. Good comment!! That place is called “Piscinão de Ramos”, something like “Ramos’ Big Pool”. It’s not a real beach and it’s far from it.

Eles chamam de música de elevador porque aqui nos Estados Unidos e na Europa toca muita bossa nova nos elevadores porque é uma música considerada relaxante. E como eles são muito jovens não sabem que se chama bossa nova. Já é o terceiro react que chamam de música de elevador

This specific version of Girl from Ipanema, with no lyrics and a "analog distorted" audio, appears a lot in movies as an elevator music or "breakfast" music. It's odd, but the association stuck. If it was Sinatra singing it, with the lyrics they would have a better chance of recognizing it as Girl from Ipanema. Music is all about context.

Yo, Gen-Zs: the elevator song you were talking about is actually a very famous song from the 50s (?) named “girl from Ipanema” which describes a white girl (probably wealthy) from a wealthy neighborhood in rio (Ipanema). In this song and video Anitta is showing that there’s another girl from rio who’s not white, or rich but should be mentioned and celebrated as well. It’s probably her most conceptual work yet.
