i guess but fantasia just hollers to me. she isn't trained. anita and the old school women, were actually trained by professionals in the train who had degrees in music. but i will take fantasia over these young white girls with no voices, claiming they're doing r&b.

I love how Anita is trying to teaching Fantasia how to integrate on stage if a singer calls her on stage. I can tell Fantasia was honored to be on stage with her but was scared of messing up since it was her first time meeting Anita. Anita is a legendary songstress who flows whenever she sings. One day Fantasia you will be able to do the same thing and will be able to sing freestyle on any song. Love you both! Such a great show.

I like most of what you said but Fantasia can freestyle on ANY song. I'm not a huge fan/follower of Fantasia's but I know she can sing and improvise on anything. Fantasia's problem is usually not knowing the lyrics and while Anita was directing her to the prompter on the monitors at the button of the stage, she may not know that Fantasia has trouble reading. That's most likely what the problem was with Fantasia not coming in earlier on the song.

Wow! Fantasia has been that one artist that the legends have blessed, admired and passed the torch down to. The Queen Aretha Franklin has dubbed her as the Princess of Soul can you blame her. She has Patti Labelle, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan and now Legendary Angelic Jazz Songress Anita Baker backing and supporting her. She stands on the shoulders of giants, trailblazers, icons and legends.That speaks volumes of how much they adore, admire and respect your talent, gift, showmanship and voice. Phenomenal!

Anita Baker is still classy and confident in her musical talents to honor other artist although it is her show... pure classiness. We love her signature black attire and short hair cut. I hope to see her in concert, soon.

Loyalty 77 not true. She practically lives in the gym, she has plenty of videos on her Instagram. That body is the result of consistent workouting since 2012 and eating healthy. Her trainers are really good too!

I agree..I think she heard it before but didn't know all the words..so when all else fails, just yell and ad lip lol..she pulled it off..Anita realized that she didn't know it I'm sure. I'm glad they got to meet.

Cory Ballad As a professional, and admirer of Anita Baker's, Fantasia never should have been placed in such an awkward situation. Anita showed her true insecure colors here. I see her differently now. Fantasia deserves a DO OVER! Jennifer Lewis never would have done the young sister this way.

I kinda feel like if u constantly make public statements about an artist being a favorite that you want to sing with, your catalog of their songs should know the popular 1s at least. I don't think Anita played her because she's from that era that goes hard when another good singer's onstage to push the maximum performance out of them. Singers like Patti, Yolanda & others aren't threatened by big voices... they encourage it to give fans unforgettable shows...in my opinion

ray davis How can you push the maximum performance out of someone , when they only know the minimum lyrics? It isn't possible. At the end of the day, I am certain Fantasia was embarrassed. While she may have improvised, she also said Anita put her on the spot. It was not supposed to be a challenge. But anyway. Also, because those of us who disagree with Anita's antics, it doesn't mean we want to sing with her. Nonetheless, I would definitely not have been the least bit embarrassed. I do know the lyrics. Unlike Fantasia, this song was during my era and is a favorite of mine. Because I don't agree with Anita, it doesn't mean inLove her any less. I just know Reba McEntire nor Dolly Pardon would not have done this to Taylor Swift. Do you feel me?

Keep The Change Keep The Change Here's the thing..if Tasia had known the words...we know she would've completely smashed this performance. That's not Anita's fault..and those other singers you named arent notoriously known to pull singers out the audience.. Anita is. And for the record Anita showed her the monitor with the words and Tasia refused to read them.. I saw this and wondered if it was low key an issue for her to read words fast on a monitor..not being funny at all but its a real possibility. However I don't expect an artist to dumb down their performance for another artist to catch up at their own song. And those words she spoke at the end trumps all. We debate if there's underlying shade and overlook the overlaying love
