Rude, Crude, & Unhinged: Exposing Anita Baker's LONG History of Deplorable Behavior...

Ойын-сауық

Rude, Crude, & Unhinged: Exposing Anita Baker's LONG History of Deplorable Behavior (Ft. Rick James, China Anne McClain, Babyface, Luther Vandross, Stephanie Mills & More)
“I don’t apologize!” probably should’ve been the name of her 80’s hit. I know, I know, Auntie Anita has given us years of smooth ballads transcending generations that you, your kids, and your kid’s kids will be singing long in the wee hours, however given the recent debacle between the Quiet Storm superstar and music icon Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds we don’t think a certain sector of the hopeless romance crowd will be running to plug Anita in their playlists anytime soon. When headliner babyface alerted his fans via social media on a May show of Anita’s ongoing ‘The Songstress’ tour citing Anita’s need of ‘space & time’ for his absence the people wanted to know what was the reason?! So when Anita had announced that Babyface was booted from the tour all together a few weeks later, oh best believe the fans were hot! The sudden decision prompted a surge of past tussles with not only babyface, but other artists to be disclosed and well, let’s just say no one should be surprised by Anita’s not so sudden rational behavior.

Anita Baker has a powerful voice even at age 65 but what good is it when her attitude sucks ?? She mistreats her fans apparently which is inherently wrong as they were the ones who put her on the map . She's about as bigoted as they come too . Forget it if you're white you have no chance with her whatsoever. I watched her receive flowers and as she moved off stage she dumped them in the trash because she didn't need flowers from white trash . Well that was a twelve year old little boy who happens to be my brother and he was beyond crushed . Forgiven yes but I will never forget ever the look on his face . Kindness goes a long way Ms. Baker and so does karma .

I went to a show in the early 80's in Maryland. I was so excited to see her, and she was the only performer. Small theater in the round, and we had seats in 2nd row! She started singing, and stopped almost immediately so she could say something to the sound people. She loudly cursed them out! I left and swore I would never purchase another album, nor see her in person. If she appears on TV, I don't hit "mute". I change the channel. I no longer give her any of my energy.

Gladys Knight and Anita Baker were touring together‼️ Gladys was the opening act and oh how magnificently Gladys Knight performed. 🌹🌹 Then came Anita Baker, I prayed to hear my favorite Baker song "No one in the World" Don't you know this heffer stopped singing and started asking the entire audience what songs they wanted to hear. Only to later on have the Audience sing her songs. I didn't want to hear the audience singing‼️ I vowed never to go to another Anita Baker Concert again. That show was the Gladys Knight Show. I saw @iamanitabaker for her Rapture tour. I was so excited to see her live. Like most other stories on here, apparently there was something going on with the sound. Where I was sitting I could see back stage in the right side. She was singing, stopped, went back stage and it looked like Solange in the elevator. The only thing she didn't do was throw hands but the way she was acting you would have thought that was coming. Seeing that behavior made me listen to her A LOT less. Karma never forgets, and she'll wonder why her life is falling apart. But all of us who've witnessed her behavior will know why.

I remember about 1988 I went to see the late great Sarah Vaughan at The Blue Note in NYC. Just before Vaughan came out Anita Baker & her husband came in & saw the great seats by the stage & she demanded our seats!! She tried to get me & the people sitting at our table moved!! The manager of The Blue Note came out & told her that there were seats in the back of the club & if those weren't to her liking, she could leave. Now, I'm observing all this & how such a tiny person could create such havoc. As she walked away I said loud enough for Anita to hear, " I was never a fan. She probably came here to take notes & copy the great Sarah Vaughan." People laughed & very shortly, Vaughan's show began. But, yes, that incident showed me that Anita Baker is a 💩 And I'm STILL not a fan🤣🤣😂

I really hate to hear of her ‘tude. She is such a beautiful lady and I love many of her songs. In the end though, beauty doesn’t matter, it’s how you treat people. When an entertainer has the attitude like “I got here all on my own”, and forgets that although she has talent, it’s the fans that put you where you are, well they soon find out how important the fans really are. If all this is true, I’m disappointed in you Anita.

I never met the woman, but, once I was working as a piano player at the St. Regis Hotel in Detroit (for about a year) and she sat about three-foot from my piano bench one night (for at least an hour) and she seemed to purposely kind of avoid making eye contact. Most musicians, singers, etc. acknowledge each other. I mean, it was actually weird. Aretha Franklin would come in there pretty often and she would always say hello...asked me for requests, etc. I could tell she kind of a diva...and not a diva in a good way. She ain't overly friendly......lol...I promise. I really like her voice, but, years later that's why I Googled "Is Anita Bake unfriendly". I knew the answer but, hey, it's late and I had nuttin else to do.😃 Oh well, like I said, she's got a great voice...in my opinion. I wouldn't wanna be stuck in an elevator with the woman.

It's why they had to get Jay Leno off the Tonight Show, so that mediocre acts could survive. So common for people to trash the Beatles the way Quincy Jones did for being "terrible musicians" Have to assume the same is true for Anita Baker. Wow! Deep because without the fans, there's no Stardom. Seeing people out in the audience enjoying the concert is what makes an artist. They've worked hard and made great efforts to see them. This is a sad report. 😔 This is so odd because one of my Co-workers just went to her concert and gave a bad rating. This is Dec of 2023. However, This is the final concert tours right? Possibly time throw the towel in. Just focus on small sets and other things. Retirement time. But it's a bad deal to leave your fans with a ugly turn out on your final tour.

I've heard stories regarding Anita being rude and nasty for no good reason going back to the 80's...... But I learned as a kid in the 80's, there is always 2 sides to every story n somewhere in the middle is the truth. However, I will say the whole Babyface thing could have been handled better. He is no more responsible for the actions of his fans than she is for hers & how do you distinguish between the 2? Babyface handled it with grace and dignity, wished her well and kept it moving...
